Advantages: Cheap, easy to use, works a little, matts down greasy areas

Disadvantages: Not good on open pored skin at all

I have incredibly pale skin. I'm just a real white colour, washed out colour and I barely tan even just a little bit no matter how much I sit in the sunshine! Fake tans look horrendous before anyone suggests the stuff to me (look at my other reviews lol) My complexion isn't helped by having dyed, jet black hair of course and it was something I never thought through before getting the urge to get rid of my bleached blonde hair on a whim! I can cope with that and I can of course use blushers and products such as that to liven myself up a bit but my biggest problem at 34 years old is that I'm still suffering spots (the bain of my life). I'm not talking about little tiny spots, though of course I get them but in the main we are talking huge, volcanic type spots that if you give them a gentle squeeze gunge splats out of them and if in front of a mirror it squirts all over the place, no word of lie, sadly this is true! I popped two this morning and lets not talk about blackheads and whiteheads and little red veins under the skin!

Yes I know I shouldn't squeeze them because of scarring myself and yes I know putting make up over them is simply feeding them and spreading the infection to all of my make up products but A) I can't not squeeze a spot as we are talking huge, sore, uncomfortable spots that are very noticable and B) I am not, not wearing make up and staying in and sulking over zits as it's not a viable option at my age, I did that when I was in my teens! lol

So this product was bought with my spot issues in mind. I don't get big rosy red cheeks but I do have a lot of spots to cover up the best I can and I do have some deep purple scarring where I've picked them in the past (and today) lol

The Packaging....

The tube, appearance wise is just like a lipstick to look at. It's pearly white in colour and you pull the lid on/off and twist the 'body' of the product and some product comes out and back in depending at what direction you twist it in of course lol. In light brown writing I'm told it's Natural Collection and there is a picture drawn on still in brown of a flower. On the back I'm told it's Corrector Stick and that it's easy to blend green concealer that helps to hide areas of rosy skin and that it's Fragrance - Free. The recycle symbol is shown and finally the contact details for Boots are listed. On the base of the product there is a light green sticky label attached so you can clearly see at a glance what the product is because the sticker is exactly the same colour as the product. On the the label I'm once again told it's a Boots product and that it's a correcter stick and that it's green.

It's nice enough packaging to be fair. I've owned a few of these over the past couple of years and I've found the casing of the product to be robust and it doesn't scratch or break. Of course saying that mine stays in a make up bag for the most of it's life and I don't have to take it out or anything as it's green and goes under a make up base after all lol

The Product...

Well it's a light mint green colour with lots of white in it that makes it look chalky. However apply it on the skin and it's very creamy and it comes off quite thickly but not overly so. It has no smell and doesn't have any effects but one of coverage. You just twist the product and apply it like you would a lipstick (only not on your lips lol).

Now it's up to you as always to find the best way of using this. Personally it's the first product I use on clean skin over moisturiser and/or make up primer. I glide this over the areas I want to remove some reddish colouring from and then I blend in very slightly with a finger or make up sponge making sure I don't rub the product off my face. Now when it blends into the skin it doesn't collect and make crumbs and it doesn't''t vanish or feel drying either and matts down greasy areas a treat. You can still see it on the skin a little and then if you want to you can apply proper concealer over that or simply apply a foundation/ tinted moisturiser over the top.

Make up goes over this ever so easily. It doesn't make a mess and once it's on you forget it there although it is quite a heavy layer of product you have on (no matter how careful you try to be lol). Make up doesn't feel heavier but you do have to make sure that around your spots you have no dry skin or the product really does collect around them areas and makes it all more noticeable.

Results....

Not a miracle product at all. I do think it helps slightly but it is only slightly. It's very easy to apply it and use it but it has no long term benefits just immediate one's if you can find them. I find that on really light pinkish patches of skin it helps but on scars and angry coloured spots no it doesn't help and the worry as I stated earlier is that this has no antibacterial properties and I'm sure I'm not the only woman in the world that wants to use this product for this reason (spots I mean lol). Something you do need to be aware of is that if you suffer open pores because this is so thick and light in colour it does show them up rather badly and I am talking after applying foundation/tinted moisturiser. I noticed what pot holy skin I own after using this but it can be corrected with loose/pressed powder but on me it does show imperfections up badly which is why I'm personally glad I don't need to cover my cheeks or large areas with this. I wouldn't be able to so if you need it for that reason I'd say you need fairly good skin and all you want this for is to tame a little colour!

I use it and I use it alot but mainly because it's £1.99 a tube and I have used other offerings in the past in this form and in liquid and this is just as good/bad as them products and the price of this is a damn sight cheaper! It's hit and miss whether it works or not but it doesn't give me any problems to use it like upsetting my already overly sensitive skin, it doesn't dry out and it doesn't harm my application or wearing of other make up products so why not lol It lasts ages and is economical as well.

Only available in Boots and do look out for any 3 of Boots Natural Collection products being on offer at any for 3 for £5.00 and also do stick your card in the advantage point machine as quite often there are extra points on the range when you purchase something!

Summary: I will continue to purchase it!
