Advantages: Great colour and shine. Price!

Disadvantages: Wears of quite quickly.

I have not really used any Natural Collection products before but a little while ago I was stuck, about to go out and I had forgotten my lip gloss. DISASTER! Now I'm not vain or anything but I cannot imagine being out for a whole evening with nothing to put on my lips. They are dry at the best of times and I always feel slightly naked if they don't have some kind of product on them - I mean I wear lip balm in bed! So I called into Boots to save the day. I bought my usual Revlon lip gloss but then the Natural Collection counter caught my eye. They were running a promotion and their lip glosses were on offer for 99p each!! Bargain I thought to myself and snapped up two of the little beauties.

AVAILABILITY AND PRICE:

Natural Collection is a make-up brand run by Boots itself and can therefore only be found within Boots stores. As a Boots brand it is found in most Boots stores, even the much smaller ones. Its regular selling price is £1.99 which I think is still quite a good deal. There seem to be offers on quite often but the whole Natural Collection range is always priced at below £2 so it won't break the bank.

PACKAGING:

The packaging for this product is fairly simple. The main tube is clear so you can see the product within so you get a good idea of what the colour is. The top is white plastic and this unscrews to reveal the wand. At the end of the wand is a small shaped sponge to apply the lip gloss with. You get 8ml of the gloss for your money.

WHAT'S IT LIKE?

Well I'm glad you asked me that! I bought the Turkish Delight and the Raspberry Ripple glosses. There are a few others available, although the selection is not huge. These include Vanilla (clear), Toffee Cream (light brown) and Fruits of the Forest (Redish purple). The Raspberry Ripple is light pink in colour and the Turkish Delight is a very dark pink.

I'll base my main points on the Turkish Delight as this is the one I use more often. When you open the lid there is an immediate aroma. It smells somewhere between yoghurts and sweets. It is a lovely fruity smell. The wand usually comes out loaded up, without the need to pump it, although this is becomming more necessary now that its nearing its end. It glides onto the lips quite smoothly. I find that it usually needs two coats to cover the top and bottom lip as I like it.

So how does it look? Well I think it looks really good. Its dark enough to give my lips a nice bit of colour. Its very glossy and this makes my lips shine. It is almost like there are little glitter particles in there (there might actually be). The scent stays with the gloss and you can smell it on your lips as long as the gloss stays on.

I wear this during the day and out at night, it works for both. The Raspberry Ripple is a more delicate and subtle gloss. It is almost transparent when it goes on, just a hint of light pinkness. I tend to wear this one during the day. It also has a lovely scent.

The only reservation that I would have with these lip glosses is that they do not last too long when they are applied. However, I find that this is the case with most lip glosses and that for the price they are better value than most, even if you do have to re-apply every so often.

OVERALL:

I would definately buy these again, especially the Turkish Delight. It has a great colour and a great scent. I think that even at £1.99 the price is a bargain. Ok so it does wear off quite quickly but I'd like to find a gloss that really has staying power. Definately reccommended. Thanks for reading xx

P.S. Sorry for the lack of ingredients but they've worn off my label and I can't find them on the net, will add them when I buy a new one!
