Advantages: Absorbs very easily
Disadvantages: A bit pricey to start with
I suffer from terribly dry skin on my hands as I am constantly washing them, working in a pre-school and helping the children after the loo etc.
I have used Neutrogena for a long time now and have a larger tube at home on my desk and a small sample tube in my bag. I pay £3.39 for my larger tube from Boots and this may seem quite high for hand cream, especially when it is only a 50ml tube but you do really only need a very small amount so it lasts quite well.
The cream itself resembles Vaseline in its texture, although it is slightly thicker and a lot less greasy. A small amount is required to work into the skin and it is really an instant result with this stuff. Immediately you will feel your skin much more comfortable to manipulate. For instance, some days it is sore when I clench my fists and after an application of this cream I can easily bend my fingers and clench my fists with absolutely no soreness or tightness of the skin.
The cream is glycerine enriched which allows it to sink into the skin with incredibly fast and effective results. I always (even now) think my hands will feel greasy after an application because the cream is so thick and actually quite difficult to work around the whole hand. However I am always pleasantly surprised once it has all worked in and I can continue working straight away, either with the children or on my computer and no greasy marks are left anywhere.
The cream is actually unscented but it does have some kind of smell to it. I think it may just be the ingredients and to be fair it only lasts a few minutes after rubbing into the skin so is not a major problem, although it is not exactly my ideal scent. I guess it would be a problem for people with sensitive skin but I would enjoy a perfume in this, or something to give it a slightly more appealing smell.
However it is advertised as being for men as well as women and in fact it claims to be used by Norwegian Fisherman whose hands are exposed to the harsh winds and weather at sea. I don't think they would appreciate a subtle rose fragrance or maybe a bit of a lemon scent to go with the fish??
Anyway - I can thoroughly recommend this cream if you suffer from dry, sore skin. It has worked wonders on my hands and the dry skin has lessened with regular applications of this. It still feels soft even after washing them a few times after application and you can feel the smoothness of your skin and the difference it has made.
Highly recommended and if you can find it on offer - even better!
Summary: RECOMMENDED xx
