Advantages: Prevents spots, keeps skin shine free
Disadvantages: Need to use concealer over it
Neutrogenas skin clearing foundation is a perfect product for someone like me who has always suffered from spots and has oily skin. Ive always felt I had to wear foundation and try and cover them up somewhat but they only end up making my skin worse by clogging my pores and making my skin greasier than ever.
Neutrogena's foundation is different though, it contains salicylic acid to help clear spots and prevent new outbreaks, so therorecially the more you wear it the better your skin will look. The oil free formula also absorbed excess oil too I presume this is because it contains talc.
It comes in a 30ml rectangular glass bottle, so no squeezing or cutting in half to get the last bits out. It is very watery to touch and needs a good shake before use to mix the contents properly.
Although it says it is fragrence free I can detect a slight creamy/milky smell which it very plesant. On the bottle it says the salicylic acid can cause redness on sensitive skins and to stop use if this occurs, I have not had this myself and use it under my eyes and on the eyelids with no problem.
Ive found an excellent colour match in "classic porcelain", and I only need a small amount to get a good coverage and to even out skin tone and red areas. I need to use concealer on bigger spots as using a second layer doesnt seem to cover them any more. I dont use any powder on top though as my skin is matt enough without it.
My skin stays shine free for hours using this although I take a pressed powder compact round with me I never need to use it other than on my nose. When I want to remove it I either use clear and clears sensitive deep cleansing lotion or cream wash which both removes it easily. I always feel like my skin looks better after taking it off compared to when I put it on, and ive never get any new spots while wearing it. So I guess I can say, it works! and at time of writing there is a bottle on ebay for 1 pound, bargain!
Summary: Perfert for oily spotty skin
