Advantages: A very light foundation - doesn't make your skin feel heavy, Clears your skin, yet leaves you confident in the meantime, Good Prices
Disadvantages: Is any make-up really good for you????, Still need to look after yourself generally i.e diet etc
A couple of years ago I was having a bad time with my skin and so I decided to take drastic action to remedy the situation. My doctor told me that I should look carefully at everything that I was putting on my skin as some of my beauty products may be making my skin worse. He advised me to look for products which were non- comedogenic (doesn?t clog the pores) and so off I went to re-assess every skin product and piece of make-up that I owned. Finding a foundation which matched this criteria proved by far the most difficult of tasks as few seem to be non clogging. However, just when I was getting annoyed by the lack of choice Neutrogena brought a new Skin Clearing Oil Free foundation on to the market. ~~The Basics~~~ Neutrogena products are widely available to buy. However, Boots usually stock the best selection. The Foundation comes in around eight different shades and costs around £8 (at the minute there is 25% off, so it is a good time to buy ? says me who bought a new bottle at full price only last week!) I use the true beige (08) shade, which suits a medium coloured skin. However, there are many shades and there should be something to suit most. The foundation comes in a 30ml glass bottle which actually looks quite classy. The name Neutrogena doesn?t really conjure up images of glamour for me, but in all honesty recently the products have been revamped into chrome style packaging which actually looks quite trendy. The glass bottle design means that you have to tip the foundation out and this isn?t always easy to do. After all, when the bottle is full you usually end up with too much and waste some and then when the bottle is nearly empty you struggle to get any out. However, this isn?t a big enough problem to put me off using the product and it shouldn?t put you off trying it either! The foundation itself has a very delicate scent to it and overall, the appearance and price make it very attractive. This foundation price wise
compares with other brands like L?Oreal and Boots No7. ~~Does it do what it claims to??~~ Neutrogena skin clearing foundation made many promises and so had a lot to live up to, so did it? *Helps your skin look clearer every time you wear it Ok, this is a huge claim. When I started using this product I was having break outs of spots on my chin area mainly and was starting to get very paranoid about it (even though everyone else said it wasn?t a problem!!). I would have to be honest and say I didn?t have chronic acne to begin with. However, in no time at all my skin was having less and less break outs and the spots that I did have were fading away. I think to say your skin looks clearer every time you wear it is a little extreme, but you get the gist. My skin only got better using this product. I have now been using this for about 18 months and can guarantee these were not short term results either. *Oil Free, Oil absorbing formula to help control shine. Some oil free foundations, like L?oreal leave your skin feeling very dry after a while and eventually they become unbearable to use. However, Neutrogena is an oil free foundation, which still leaves my skin feeling quite moist. However, my skin still looks matte and not at all shiny. After all, there is nothing worse than the feeling that your whole face is shiny and showing up every imperfection when you have finished applying all your make-up. There is also a great skin clearing pressed powder, which at £7 I also recommend very highly. In fact, there is nothing in the Neutrogena range that I don?t recommend. *Provides clean, natural looking coverage. I don?t like wearing a lot of make-up. However, I still like to wear a light foundation so I don?t feel so bare. This is a great product for people who don?t like heavy make-up. The idea is that the product helps clear your skin up and so you get out of the vicious circle of applying too m
uch make-up. Before long I think you get used to feeling minimally made-up. One of the main reasons that I have continued to use this foundation is that it glides on so easily. It really is a clean and natural foundation. I apply it easy enough with just my fingers and as it is so light anyone can get an even coverage with little effort. ~~Concluding comments~~~ Few foundations out there can help sort out problematic skin and up until I discovered this Neutrogena foundation I spent half my life not wearing any make-up to give it time to breathe and clear itself up. However, now with this product I can feel confident that I have a little make-up on and not so bare, yet at the same time my skin remains spot free and healthy. However, I also have to stress that I drink lots of water, eat well and exercise plenty and I do believe that the whole package helps rather than just one ?miracle? foundation. This is a great product which seems to last a long time and which is ultimately well worth the money.
