Once you smooth some on your skin it doesn't travel far and sits on top rather than sinking in. Nicola always looks so dewy but this just serves to even out your skin tone, it doesn't have any light reflecting properties. It also comes in a very small post for £12, with no applicator sadly. This is great for people who are looking for the lighter shade but must be wary that it just leaves skin as a base rather...more

Premium Review Nicola Roberts Dainty Doll Foundation: Not Quite The Fairest Of Them All (658 words)

The Story Not all foundations are created equal - especially when it comes to pale skin. When looking for a foundation I immediately plump for the lightest shade available yet often even the lightest of shades leaves an orange residue on my porcelain skin. I had found three foundations which were a near perfect match to my skin tone these being Bare Escentuals, MAC and Max Factor. However as incredible as these foundations are, I am still a beauty junkie at heart so when I heard that Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud fame had launched a make up range especially formulated for pale skin I couldn't wait to try it out. The Range The Dainty ...  Read the complete review

I'm glad that I am getting to review this product as it has been a total lifesaver to me. I started using it about two months ago now and I definately reccomend it for any gals with super pale skin like mine! Now as you know, theres a curse that comes with really pale skin and thats rosiness or red cheeks, it seems to show up especially rouge on such a pale canvas! Up until a couple of months ago every time i bought a foundation I'd try a different one as I'd never found anything pale enough, I even bought a MAC foundation which the make up artist type gal tried on me and said it was perfect for my skin but nope it wasn't! So I was shopping on ...  Read the complete review

Being a Girls Aloud fan, and someone in possession of ghostly white Celtic skin I was thrilled when I watched the TV show "Passions Of Girls Aloud" and saw Nicola Roberts planning her own make-up line aimed at people with pale skin like herself. As soon as it was in stock I ordered the concealer, an eyeshadow, a lipgloss, both blushes and two of the foundations in Ivory and Porcelain. The other shade is White, and it is just that, white! I have since been informed that the White one is useful for adding to existing darker foundations to make them lighter, and as any pale girl will tell you, there are always a few 01 "pale" foundations that ...  Read the complete review

As a girl of irish heritage with the typical deathly pale skin to match, this foundation is a lifesaver; while most foundation is usually too orange for me this stuff suits my skintone perfectly. It comes in three colours: porcelain, ivory, and pure white for the palest of skintones. While porcelain is still quite orange, ivory is a perfect match for my skin and the pure white fondation is great for blending and adding highlights to certain areas of the face. It's a particularly nice foundation, because while it's light enough to match pale skin it gives a healthy glow as opposed to making the wearer seem pallid, a problem I previously had when I bought other specially ...  Read the complete review

I REALLY wanted to love this foundation but sadly it's not for me. I'm surprised people can use this as a full face foundation as it takes a while to get used to. I'm used to liquid foundations that sink into the skin and can be spread easily. This comes in a little pot and is quite hard on first receipt. It's VERY thick, almost like a paste.
