Advantages: You won't find shades this light in the average cosmetics line
Disadvantages: Would be nice to have more product
Being a Girls Aloud fan, and someone in possession of ghostly white Celtic skin I was thrilled when I watched the TV show "Passions Of Girls Aloud" and saw Nicola Roberts planning her own make-up line aimed at people with pale skin like herself.
As soon as it was in stock I ordered the concealer, an eyeshadow, a lipgloss, both blushes and two of the foundations in Ivory and Porcelain. The other shade is White, and it is just that, white! I have since been informed that the White one is useful for adding to existing darker foundations to make them lighter, and as any pale girl will tell you, there are always a few 01 "pale" foundations that managed to tango her sitting unused in a drawer somewhere, so it could definitely come in handy!
The pot itself is a little smaller than I expected, but the formulation of the foundation is thick, a little goes a long way, and the coverage is excellent which is a relief as very pale skin tends to be rosacea prone!
I used the Ivory one in Winter and I am now segueing into the Porcelain one as the weather starts to improve. The Ivory shade is pink toned which is quite unusual for a foundation these days, the beauty industry seems to have decided we all have yellow toned skin, but the pinky tone adds warmth to pale skin I feel.
The Porcelain shade is possibly a little lighter than the average 01 shade.
Dainty Doll foundation is a real find for the pale and interesting girl!
Summary: A gift from the make-up gods!

- 15/05/09 Thanks for that review Kerrypanda. I've got the celtic colouring too, which isn't a huge problem in summer, when I am almost the average shade 1, but in winter... I really like the idea of being able to add the white shade and make your existing foundation go further. Great review. Brilliant tips. |
