Not really a fan of this even though it does its job (Nivea Essential Lip Balm)

Advantages: Does soften your lips

My lips are usually quite dry, especially during the winter. Because of this, I always have at least lip balm to hand. I found this one in the depths of my handbag, where it had obviously been discarded for a different lip balm so I decided to test it out again to see why this had been the case!

The Tube
As per the above product image, this lip balm is a predominantly blue tube with a white base. To get the lid off, it just a case of untwisting the blue lid part so that it comes off.

The Lip Balm
The lip balm itself is a white block. I was a bit put off by the white colour at first as I thought that it might make my lips go white when I put it on. Luckily this isn't actually the case unless you smear loads of lip balm on. If you just take a small amount and rub it onto your lips, it leaves a tint that is very similar to what you would expect from clear lip balm or lip gloss.

The Results
The lip balm feels a bit sticky on my lips and I am acutely aware of that fact that is there as it feels quite thick and heavy and not particularly pleasant. Presumably this is why it was hastily resigned to the bottom of my handbag in favour of a lip balm that feels more natural.

It does leave my lips feeling quite soft and smooth by the end of the day, but I need to use several applications as it seems to wear off easily. It softens the dry skin on my lips, probably because of its thick consistency, but it's not a product that I enjoy using as I keep wanting to just wipe it off and be done with it!

Summary: Does work but I don't enjoy using it because of the consistency
