Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm
The winter is fast approaching and with it brings colder weather and conditions that can cause chapped and tender lips. I tend to use more caring lip products during this time of year rather than lip sticks and glosses and Nivea's Essential Care Lip Balm is up there in my top purchase list.
The Lip Tube
The Essential Lip Balm comes in a lipstick like tube plastic tube. The Essential Care Lip Balm lid is a dark blue coloured tubing, this is the pull on and off lid. The bottom of the tube is a white plastic and this is where the turning mechanism is. Once the lid is off you turn the base of the lip stick to the right to release the balm and use it and then to the left to return the balm back to the tube.
The lip balm has the Nivea branding on the tube. It is a great sized pocket product, being about 8 cm long x 1.2 cm circumference. The lip balm contains 4.8 g.
The Lip Balm
The balm itself is a pale white colour and looks a bit like gelatine; it's not particularly appealing to look at. The balm has a strong consistency and is quite solid which is good for applying, there's nothing worse than applying a lip balm or stick and the thing snapping or falling off the mechanism. The balm is applied directly to the lips and one or two strokes is all you need to do. It leaves a quite decent thickness over your lips, which is how it protects them.
The balm has no real smell or colouring in it so it literally leaves a protective see-though layer over your lips. You can wear a colour underneath the lip balm if you need to add that bit of vibrancy, as this creation is designed to protect, not as a vanity product.
The ingredients in this includes Jojoba Oil and natural Shea Butter which helps to keep your lips moisturised and silky smooth. I find that the balm provides a nice coating that locks in the moisture, which means I am not constantly reapplying the balm. One thing I really like about this product is that it is not at all sticky, it's just nice. I hate it when you're walking and a gust of wind blows your hair in your face and you get it covered in lip glosses!
A lovely product for any time of year, but particularly beneficial in winter. A tube of this costs only about £1 in supermarkets, boots, superdrug etc. Great Stuff!
Summary: Great product from Nivea's Essential Range
