Advantages: works brilliantly, visibly improved skin
Disadvantages: maybe the price
This is my favourite beauty product. I only have one indispensable item that I need a constant supply of – and no, it’s not by Avon! So, what is this wonder product? It’s Nivea Soft Intensive Moisturising Crème (phew!) which is usually priced around £2.40 for the 75ml tube (it’s also available in a little jar) but I bought some last week from Asda for only £2.18 – so shop around for bargains! I have suffered from dry skin for several years, despite trying various products both prescribed by the Doctor and bought over the counter. But the problem has still persisted. Then one day, we were on a long car journey and stopped at Sainsbury’s. My hands were so dry, that the skin was cracking in several places, and it was red, sore and itchy. I knew I needed to buy something to soothe it. This was my first experience of Nivea and I have been using it every day since then. What’s more, its effects must be visible because when I was having my hair dyed last week, my hairdresser asked what I had been using on my face, as my skin looked so much better. Yes, this cream can also be used on your face – unlike most hand creams – and I have problem skin here too. My cheeks are very dry and flaky, often becoming red and itchy too. Nivea Soft comes in a white tube or jar with the Nivea logo in white writing on dark blue. Simple packaging, but a very impressive product inside. It offers ‘smooth and supple skin’ and contains jojoba oil and vitamin E. You can use it on your hands, face and body and it is gentle enough to apply every day, if necessary. The packaging explains that the jojoba oil nourishes the skin and the vitamin E protects the ‘natural moisture balance’ of the skin. It is pH neutral and dermatologically approved. The cream itself is white and looks a bit like Copydex glue! It comes out of the top of the tube easily, unless you
217;re at the very end (but cheapskates like me might wish to cut the end of the tube, to use it all up!). It has a very subtle smell to it, nothing in particular – just a bit soapy maybe. You rub it into your skin and it is absorbed almost straight away, with no stickiness and no film being left behind. It is cooling and refreshing, especially when applied to dry cheeks. It is possible to really see how much good this product does. My cheeks go from feeling like sandpaper to being silky smooth after applying this. I have also had peeling skin on my hands and after a couple of applications of Nivea Soft, this has stopped happening. I really am completely effusive on this product, but I make no apologies, it is wonderful. The only disadvantage to this is the price, but I don’t begrudge it, as it makes such a difference to my skin. Anyway, the tube usually lasts about a month, so it doesn’t work out too expensive in the long run really. So if you ever suffer from dry skin, I suggest you try this product and hopefully it will work for you too. As my title says, I’m Nivea Gonna Give It Up ;-)
