I first bought this Nivea lip care product a couple of years ago after I had bought the Pearl and Shine stick. I found this product to work wonders on my lips. I myself are a heavy using of lip care products because I hate my lips feeling bare and dry. I have also tried the original of this with the white tube and I find that this product is now my daily lip care.
The gloss itself leaves your lips feeling lovely. The substance is thick and has a certain pearl shine to it. Just like the stick. I find the liquid inside to be dark pink. I use this in small dabs on my lips and I find it is more see through thank pink. It helps to give yourself a natural finish without using sticky lip gloss.
The product comes in a small 10ml tube that is dark pink with the branding logo of Nivea on the front. It also has a pink screw on lid, which is very easy to take off and on. The applicator inside has a nice point to it which sits on your lips easily. It has a small hole in the middle where you simply lightly squeeze the container to get a little of the product out. However, once you start getting towards the end I find this product hard to squeeze out. The inner tube also starts to stick together. The product comes in a small cardboard case that helps the product to hang on the shelf in stores.
I find this product quite expensive in most stores but you can catch it on offer in Superdrug for a little over £1.00 at certain times throughout the annual year. I think this product is great for its price and I would recommend it. Unless this product is found at extortion prices. This gloss is good to use as a make-up device as well as a lip care product.
I received this Nivea Lip Caregloss and Shine as a small gift from a friend, and it is now one of my most used lip products for casual occasions. Nivea is a well known body care company that I have bought from may occasions in the past, and I have trusted it to bring me products which are of good quality and it has hardly ever disappointed me. One thing I have to say is, even though I did not have to buy this myself, Nivea items are in general a bit more expensive than average lip care products in high street stores, but 99% of the time it is worth it.
The thing that I like about this is that, yes, it does add visible gloss to your lips but it also cares for them too. I would like to think that this is something of an in between product of lip gloss and lip balm. It is perfect for if you are not up to wearing lipstick but want to add a little bit of shine to your lips whilst caring for them also.
I got this in the shade of 'Lovely Red'. There is an obvious tint of red to the gloss, however on your lips it does not colour them too much. I don't mind all that much about this as I consider this to be quite a natural looking gloss, and obviously there are more pigmented lip glosses available if I felt like it. It looks like a nice red gloss in the tube.
This came in a smallish 10ml tube, with a small screw off lid. The applicator is what you would find on a typical tube of lip gloss; a plastic chiseled tip, like you might find on a lipstick for ease of application. There is a hole in the middle of this chiseled tip, where you can lightly squeeze the lip gloss out and then swipe it on your lips. This is quite easy to use and the plastic tip does not feel uncomfortable on your lips. I think that a lip balm design may have been slightly easier to operate, but after all, this is in a gloss function. This tube is quite small and so it is easily portable in a pocket or a bag so you can easily access it when required. Overall, the packaging is quite neutral and aesthetically pleasing. The only problem I had with it really was the fact that it is easy to squeeze too hard and push far too much out!
It does add quite a lot of shine to your lips, which is always nice, and I find that if I am wearing this I like to reapply it every two hours or so. As a care gloss which moisturises your lips I think that it does a fairly good job considering that it adds shine to them as well. Obviously, though, this is not the absolute best for moisturisation; if you want something intensely moisturising, I think that maybe a lip balm or lip salve could do a better job.
Altogether, I think that this is a good all rounder gloss for your lips, and it manages to moisturise them quite well. It is perfect for any occasion when you want to add only a slight tint and shine to your lips and it looks good on. The applicator is fairly easy to use with hardly any problems, and the tube looks cute when carried around. Altogether, I think that this is a good lip product from Nivea and I would recommend it with 4 out of 5 stars.
Two years ago at Christmas I received a gift bag of Nivea lip products. At the time I wondered when I would find time to use them as I don't often wear this type of lip product but then the cold and flu season hit and I seem to have been unwell on and off for several months now and so products like this have been very welcome in my make up bag. When I am ill I always seem to suffer from chapped lips and so I have been using lots of my Nivea products to keep my lips refreshed and in tip top condition where possible.
This particular product comes in a pink tube and you get 10ml with a plastic screw top lid. This tube really is like a lip gloss and you apply it like one. The end of this tube is a slanted edge and there is a small hole to squeeze the lip gloss through. You then brush it across your lips and it will smooth the lip gloss across my lips in a nice even manner. This product is designed to be a gloss that cares for your lips and shines them too meaning that you can look stylish while having your lips cared for.
When I am applying this it takes just a few seconds and it is easy to put on. The shine from this gloss isn't a very high shine but it is a nice amount to give some health back to my lips and aid a nice natural look. The only downside to this gloss is that it feels quite heavy and a little greasy when I am wearing it. This of course is quite a big downside and means that I end up disliking this particular lip gloss quite a lot after I've worn it for a couple of days of having chapped lips. This did get a little better if I applied a light coating and then dabbed up my lips a little like I do when applying lipstick, however, I find that quite inconvenient and feel that I shouldn't really have to do this.
Now as far as protecting my chapped lips go this did the job fantastically but unfortunately the greasiness of this product is a huge flaw for me. My lips were protected and got better for me wearing this but unfortunately I really didn't enjoy having this on my lips. This looked natural but it didn't feel natural unfortunately and for that I am going to have to rate this a 2 out of 5. This does have SPF15 in it but I've never really used this outside of my home and I have no plans to finish this tube anyway so who actually cares?! I don't recommend this, which is rare for me, and this is obviously a hugely disappointing product for me not to recommend it.
*** Impulse buy ***
This was one of those quick impulse purchases in Boots as I love lipglosses and this caught my eye. (I would like to say I desperately needed a new one but this would be something of a lie. An enormous lie.) I bought the pink lipgloss. It cost about £3.50 and you can also get the gloss in natural and red. I've also seen packs of all three glosses for under £6 and if I ever see this in-store I won't hesitate to buy it.
*** Pretty packagaing ***
This is quite a pretty looking product. It's a tube-style package with a screwcap and a slanted applicator. The colour is a deep, slightly shimmery pink with a few stars and a distinctive Nivea logo in the middle. I like the packaging - it's simple and girlie but not too over-the-top.
*** How does it look? ***
The gloss itself has a slightly pearlised peachy-pink colour. The applicator makes it simple to put on, and it glides onto the lips very smoothly and has an instantly noticeable fruity flavour which I really like (I do like my lip glosses to be flavoured!). This feels lovely on the lips - really silky without being at all sticky or gritty. It's the perfect lipgloss texture. It also helps to moisturise lips which is an added bonus - it doesn't feel likes it's just sitting on the top of your lips.
This gloss definitely has a slight hint of colour to it and it makes lips appear glossy (but not too shiny) and with a healthy pink glow. It looks really nice on and it's quite a subtle shine, so is suitable for everyday use.
I guess the product falls down slightly on staying power, as you do need to reapply this quite frequently. But I think this is always a downside of any gloss that isn't sticky in texture.
*** In summary ... ***
Overall I think this is a great lipgloss. I love the taste and the slight hint of colour. A very pretty product which I'll be buying again.
This is a really good lipgloss and is perfect to pop in your handbag.
I have this in the pink colour which is a lovely natural looking colour. It comes in a small tube which has a slanted end where the lipgloss comes out so it is very easy to apply as you just smooth it across your lips. It is quick and easy to apply so perfect if you are rushing about.
I really like this lipgloss as it doesn't feel sticky on my lips. It feels like I have applied a lipbalm rather than a lipgloss but with the shine and natural colour it is the perfect combination.
Another thing I like about this lipgloss is the smell as it has a fruity sweet smell which makes it a pleasure to use.
It also seems to last quite a long time and stays put just as well as any of my other lipglosses but feels so much kinder to my lips.
I have been wearing this lipgloss through the summer but I do think it will be fantastic during winter as lips can get very dry in the cold so I think it will be a must to apply this before leaving the house.
I think I paid about £2.50 for this and I have had it for a few months now and it is lasting really well so don't be put off by the small size of the tube as it is really good value for money.
I like to keep my lips glossy all day, but I find many lip glosses too sticky and/or do not leave lips glossy-looking for as long as I would like. What attracted me to this product was the fact that it promises to care for your lips at the same time as leaving them shiny.
The gloss comes in four shades/types:
- Pink Sugar
- Red Ruby
- Natural Volume
I usually use the Natural shade, as I do not like to colour my lips during the day. I have tried the Pink Sugar shade on nights out before, but prefer the Natural variety. The gloss comes in a long tube that on purchased will be set on a cardboard back, and encased at the front by a plastic window. The tube is cylindrical but becomes flatter towards the end. The tube contains 8.5ml of gloss, and the tube itself is recyclable. The product has a screw cap that is semi-transparent, and there is a wedge-shaped tip in which there is a hole for the gloss to emerge. I really like the wedge tip, as it makes applying the gloss easy and you can control how the product is spread onto your lips. The tube is also squeezy, so you can choose how much of the gloss you want to emerge through the hole, and because the tube becomes flatter at the bottom it is easy to squeeze out the remaining gloss when you are running low.
The gloss itself is very pale pink in appearance, and has a pearlescent sheen. It is untextured, and is viscous enough to leave a good slick that clings to your lips. You do not need to apply much of the gloss for your lips to shine, and I have found that after the second or third application of the day my lips appear slightly pinker, which looks very glamorous yet subtle. The Caregloss also works like a balm, and even when I have sore lips they feel moisturised within the first hour or so of application. I have never owned a lip gloss that has had this effect before, and I would now be very reluctant to swap this gloss for another brand.
The Caregloss has a beautiful fragrance, but some may find it a little sweet. It's true that when a gust of wind hits you and you your hair will cling to the gloss and probably smear it across your face a little, but the very nature of lip gloss makes this inevitable. The gloss has fantastic staying power, and providing you do not eat or drink while wearing it, one coat will last at least three hours. This gloss is not like others I have used; as well as its excellent moisturising properties (it contains shea butter and vitamin E), it contains SPF 15, so will protect your lips from harmful UV rays.
I usually buy the Caregloss from Bodycare, where it retails for £2.19. This is the cheapest I have found it, as it usually retails for somewhere in the region of £2.30 - £3.10. While it may be a little more expensive than other lip glosses, this is the best I have found to date and I will certainly not be switching brands any time soon. Even at the higher price end, I still consider this a bargain. Highly recommended.
Nivea products are great, and this is no exception. I ran out of my usual lip balm (vaseline) so popped into superdrug and brought this cargloss, as its also a lipgloss as well as caring for your lips
I dont really get chapped lips or anything wrong with them, but use lip balm as a force of habit aswell as a coat of trusty lipgloss.
As this product is a lip care and makes them shiny, its both in one product - which i love!
I always find nivea products are a very good quality and are always a good standard, and my opinion wasnt changed with this caregloss
This Lip care Caregloss comes in a small squeezy tube, and is bright pink with a screw topped lid. The tube itself carries the Nivea logo and it is rather plain, but shows you what the product is
Although the tube is quite a bright pink, the actual lipgloss isnt this colour, its still definately pink but not as bright as it makes out.
It is a 10ml tube, and has lasted me around 3 months and at about £3 to buy, it equates to about £1 a month which i think is superb
I would recommend this to anyone who likes to care for their lips and wear lipgloss- this does both at once!
If you can get over the pink bottle, then what we have here is a very good little lipgloss. It is actually available in two different varieties, a pink one and a normal one. I plumped for the normal one, as the pink one seemed more up the female market. That said, I have bought the Vaseline rose tinted lip gloss before, ahem.
For about three quid you get a rather sexy looking tube of lipgloss with a removable lid and lipstick style look. This is not a problem for me and I think more guys need to look after their lips. I suffer from chapped lips because I am prone to licking my lips a lot. I have tried many lip glosses over the years and so far, nothing has beaten my trusty tin of Vaseline. Nivea are coming in closely behind though as a contender.
The application process is a delight and it spreads onto the lips evenly with minimal fuss and mess. The is very subtle smell which smells a littls sweet to me. I found this gloss delivered a much better gloss than the likes of Lipsalve and some of the Lush lip glosses. The mositure levels were very impressive and my lips gleamed and shone with pride.
The gloss hold for a while too, I needed about three applications over a day which is pretty good going I think and that is including some lip licking inbetween. It is a bit dearer than the Vaseline range, but I guess you are paying for the Nivea name. Would I buy again? Yes I would because the product works and it makes lips look shiny and healthy. I got mine from Boots, they are also stocked in larger supermarkets.
Nivea is my favourite beauty brand so when I got this lipgloss in a Nivea Gorgeous set I was thrilled. I decided to try it out.
~Packaging and Appearance~
Becuase I got my Caregloss and Shine in a giftset the tube had stars all over it and was a limited edition colour and had limited edition packaging. It has a blue oval on the front with Nivea Lipcare inside and then the words 'Caregloss and Shine' beneath it. The lid is a twist off top and the spout where the gloss comes out is slanted so it is easy to apply on your lips.
~Contents and Product~
When I squeezed the tube I was met by a little blob of shiny coral pink lipgloss that had a sheen to it. It had a very fruity scent that I didn't really like. Thanks to the slanted spout it was easy to apply. But it was sticky on my lips and felt very uncomfortable.
I got mine tube out of a giftset, but I have got a single tube of Caregloss and Shine for 99p which is worth the value that it is!
My mom gave me a tube of this gloss to try out ages ago now but until a few weeks ago this was gathering dust in one of my make-up cases, that is until I ran out of my usual lipbalm. Ive never really used Nivea in the past but I have heard great things about the brand so I assumed this was going to be a great product, and it was to a certain extent but I still feel a bit let down.
This product comes in a hot pink 10ml tube with an applicator a lot like a lipstick on the inside to make sure its easy to apply. The lipgloss appears to be clear if you squeeze a little bit onto your hand and it feels quite sticky and a sticky gloss is the worst! I believe this gloss comes in just two shades: Pink (the one I own) and Natural, so not exactly a wide choice of shades.
This is proper easy to apply which I think has a lot to do with the top of the tube and the way it is shaped, almost to fit your lips and you dont need to apply loads because the colour spreads really easily. The colour of this pink one I think is really great. Its very subtle but you can definately see a quite natural shade to your lips after applying. If this was just a coloured lipgloss then it would be great but as it promises to moisturise as well as adding shine I was still annoyed.
This didnt do anything positive to my lips to be honest. I didnt feel that it made them more moisturised or less chapped and I used it for about a week with no obvious effects. Another thing that irritated me was how sticky it is, if you wear this outside when its windy then your hair WILL get stuck to your lips and trust me that is not good look. Even if you dont apply much the texture is still way to sticky in my opinion and Im sure there must be better moisturising glosses out there.
This is an okay product if your just looking for a lipgloss with some colour pigments but if your looking for moisturised and unchapped lips then look elsewhere because this will be a disapoointment to you. Im going to give it two stars for the nice colour but I dont recommend people buy this.
If you do choose to go out and buy this it will set you back about £3 whatever shade you buy and it is pretty widely available. I recommend you dont waste your money though.

After realising recently that the lipglosses I had were really old and manky, I decided to go on a bit of a make up shopping spree (lots more reviews to follow hopefully), only possible because I recently got a job (yay!)
I decided to go to Watt Brothers in Glasgow, as they usually have some decent, discounted make up. A package which caught my eye was the Nivea Caregloss Trio, in an attractive pink cardboard box - as it was only £2.99, I decided to give it a go. The lip gloss trio is about £4.99 most places on the internet and individual careglosses are £3.29 in Superdrug at the moment. Each gloss contains 10ml.
In the package, there are 3 colours - 'pure natural' - a peachy pink colour that smells like strawberry laces (the sweets), 'pink star' - a darker pink that has a raspberry fragrance, and 'lovely red' - whose colour is as its name suggests and smells a bit like those cola cube sweets. The colours of the actual glosses are slightly different than on the package. All the fragrances are very sweet and quite bubblegum like - so I wouldn't recommend these lipglosses if you like unfragranced products.
The lipglosses themselves are in a handy little squeezy tube - you can squeeze out as much product as you like and spread the lipgloss as well. The gloss is quite thick and a little greasy (I am used to this as I usually use vaseline from the pot) and the colours are quite subtle when applied, so every colour suits just about all skintones. The effect of the gloss, for me, is perfect - it adds a bit of shine but doesn't look too obvious - so is suitable for everyday wear. I normally wear this over lipstick. I personally would prefer if the glosses were less fragranced, as it makes them seem a bit too 'little girly', but they are nice enough. I think these glosses will last me as only a small amount needs to be applied for moisturisation and colour.
The glosses also function as a lip balm - the gloss effect does not last a long time (maybe 1-2 hours), but the lip balm effect does - I really like the 2 in 1 nature of this product and would buy it again - especially for the bargain price I got it for!
I have not fully experimented with these and my new lipsticks, so will probably update this review with more details soon!
Thanks for reading
This lip balm was bought to me as a present from my mum. It was in a lovely gift set, called "Nivea Glam Gift Pack" with 2 of the glosses in it, natural and pink star, and it had a pink shimmery dust to go over the gloss included too. There is also another colour available, lovely red.
This is available at the moment from fragrancedirect.com for 99p and the glam gift pack from Superdrug for £4.99.
The tube is only small, in a frosted pale pink colour, with a slight shimmer to it and white stars all over it. The lid is a screw on clear top. The lip balm is applied as you squeeze the tube, it is released.
This is more like a lip gloss than a balm, but it's not sticky like original lipglosses. It has a lovely velvety texture and doesn't feel heavy on lips. It glides on lips evenly and gives a shimmery natural looking gloss to lips.
I would say that although this is a gloss, I didn't find that it stayed on my lips for long. It doesn't stay very well. It has a pleasant smell, not overpowering, just a slight sweet smell.
I would recommend this as a balm not as a gloss as it doesn't stay on very long!
This little handy sized lip gloss / lip care product by Nivea has some good and bad points. I have used this product for many years. This creamy product claims to care for your lips whilst giving a nice gloss effect to your lips. This little tube comes in the size of 10ml, whereas including the packaging it comes to 12m.
I do like this product, but there are also some negative points. I like the creamy texture the gloss gives but can sometimes become a bit sticky after a while. Im not sure about this product caring for your lips as much as some other products available out there. The gloss side of the product though is brilliant. The product leaves a nice pinky glossy effect on your lips, which is perfect for me as I dont like the harsh effect some lipsticks can give.
I love the handy size of this product. The packaging is simply and easy to understand. You can hardly mistake this for something else. The packaging is not very glamourous but certainly looks OK.
Ease of use
This product is very simple to use. Simply unscrew the lid and squeeze a small out and apply directly to your lips. Once you have finished applying, simply replace the lid.
The price of this product varies between probably £2.49 - £3.49. I think at £2.49, it is worth it but £3.49 is abit excessive!
This product is very practical, as its size is perfect to fit into your handbag or sometimes even in your pocket. The ease of use means that you can apply it on the go - usually with no mess.
My overall opinion
I love this product hence why I keep going back to it. It also seems to last forever, which is of course a bonus. Something I dont particularly like it that when you are screwing and unscrewing the lid, gloss can get inbetween and thus maybe slightly unhygenic and obviously looks dirty too. I love the finish this gloss gives and to me this is a lip gloss and not a lip balm, as I believe this product is not brilliant for curing and caring for your lips. I use this as a gloss and would recommend other people to use this as such.
This little tube of gloop is fabulous! A must have for all handbags! It comes in a few different colours so you can swap and choose which colour suits you at different times.
I don't always get on with the little tubs of Vaseline, it seems to make my lips more dryer and flakey than they were before I applied it! So I thought id try something else.
This tube of lip care is a gloss cross with a lip balm. It goes on with ease from a little squeeze of the tube. It smells delicious and doesn't take so bad as some other lip balms do. The glossey care lasts for a good few hours before you need to reapply. It is a little on the sticky side as is any gloss so beware of flyaway hairs on windy days!
This little tube of lip care costs only a couple of quid and lasts for ages. Ive still got mine from 8 months ago and its so handy to quickly dab on before you go on that special date!
I love Nivea Products and I feel that they are one of the best ranges for lip care. I have always suffered from really chapped lips and I have tried a lot of different things to smooth and moisturise them. Nivea A Gloss & Shine lip gloss really gives your lips a nice shine without drying out your lips. There are two types of Gloss & Shine lip gloss Natural & Pink.
---- The Packaging ----
The Pink coloured lip gloss comes in a deep pink tube whilst the Natural lip gloss comes in a peachy coloured tube. The tubes have the Nivea logo on the front they are shaped like usual lip gloss tubes which makes application of the product easy.
---- The Product ----
This product is so easy to apply as it just glides onto your lips. The best thing about this product is that it has a really nice consistency it is not too thin or too thick which I always have a problem with when using other products. Oncee you apply it you are left with nice shiny lips that are not sticky which is such a great feature of this product. I have lots of sticky lip glosses and they are sometimes the worst because you hair or you scarf gets stuck to it so this product really is great.
You are left with soft smooth lips that have a nice shine and if you choose the pink coloured gloss you have a nice tint of pink added to your lips.
---- The Price ----
For a 10ml tube of this lip gloss I paid £3.22 at my local chemist.
