I very rarely buy lip balm as I'm a huge Carmex fan and as far as I'm concerned nothing does better than Carmex if you've got poorly lips!

I actually happened to stumble upon this as a tester in a magazine, I think it was Glamour and it had 3 small samples for each of the shades (natural, pink, red). So I tried them out, as I always do, and I really liked it!

I don't think that this lip balm is relatively new but I think it's been re-advertised recently and they're trying to plug it as a lip gloss with the caring properties of a balm.

The thing I love about Nivea Caregloss and Shine is that it gives that watery glossy finish of really high shine lipglosses like that Jelly one from Rimmel or the little tubes from Maybelline that had a cult following a few years ago. This stuff isn't sticky or gloopy at all like you'd expect from a gloss it's just really light but dead glossy.

I have naturally pinky lips so I always tend to go for nudey shades, so I was particularly pleased to find that they had a natural shade in their collection. Products like this always tend to have a pink, a red and a browny colour but this is more of a peach so it could almost pass as a clear gloss for over lippy. The pink and red shades are both really sheer and not too brassy either.

I do really love the concept that you can apply this as you would a gloss and know that you are still keeping your lips soft. I tend to forget to use lip balm and then suffer with dry lips so this cuts that out completely as for me I know I'm going to be applying my lip gloss daily.

At £3.19 for a 10ml tube I think it's a bit dear for a lip balm, but when I consider how much I spend on lip gloss, £3 odd hardly touches it! I'd definitely buy this again, and recommend to a friend, brilliant product!
