Gives shine but seems no different to lip gloss in general (Nivea Lip Care Caregloss and Shine)

I have been using this as one of my many lip glosses for around six months now. I will admit that it isn't one of the ones that I use the most often, but it is usually stashed in my bag so that there is always a lip gloss on hand.

Why Did I Buy This?
I was originally drawn to this product as it claimed to be able to care for my lips whilst also acting as a lip gloss. Anyone who has read my previous reviews of lip glosses and lip balms will know that I am forever on the lookout for a product that will create a nice glossy shine, but also one that isn't overly sticky. I have tried several lip glosses in the past that have been too sticky or have made my lips more dry so I was hoping that this would be a cross between a lip balm and a lip gloss (and save me using both!).

Using This Product
When I squeezed a bit of the lip gloss out the tube, the lip gloss was a shimmery lightish pink colour. I was hoping that this would not be the colour that it would be when it was applied to my lips, as I much prefer clear lip glosses or those with just a bit of shimmer. When I put it on my lips, it produced a neutral clear colour with a little bit of pink shimmer, but it was still very subtle.

It wasn't overly sticky, which is good considering that the squeezy tube means that using your fingers to apply it is the easiest option. Once it is on your lips, you can feel that it is there but it isn't an uncomfortable feeling.

Does It Work?
Despite the claims that it cares for your lips, I haven't noticed any difference compared to my regular lip glosses. For me, it doesn't work as well as a traditional lip balm and that was disappointing as I had high hopes for the product. If you are considering this in the hope that it will do the job of both a lip gloss and a lip balm (like me), I would not recommend this product as it does not have the same effect as a lip balm. My lips were still dry after wearing this throughout the day (as is often the case when I do not apply lip balm).

Summary: Only seems to work like a normal lip gloss - where's the lip care?
