Advantages: Really good at removing eye gloss/cream.
Disadvantages: Not cheap. Leaves the eye area very oily even after being washed off.
Ordinarily I will use a Simple eye make-up remover as this is usually adequate enough for removing the eyeshadow and mascara that I use so I don't have a huge need for anything different. However, I like the No 7 eye glosses, which my usual eye make-up remover barely touches. Fed up of doing little more than simply push the gloss around my face, I realised it was high time that I invested in a make-up remover that was better suited to the job. Enter this particular one. Being oil-based, I know from my past usage that it is much better for removing the eye gloss than most other options.
USING IT
There are two reasons why I was reluctant to buy this again. One is the price, which I'll come to later. The other is its oiliness. I literally cannot bear to have this on my face once I've used it and I always feel the need to go and wash it off afterwards as it just feels so greasy. Even after this, I still feel like it's not really gone away. Not what I really want from a make-up remover! On the plus side, it is very effective at removing my cream eye make-up. I used to buy this under what I assume was its previous guise as it is essentially the same thing and unfortunately, the same oily effects are still very much in evidence.
PRICE
This is by no means a cheap eye make-up remover. I will only buy it if I have a £5 off voucher for No 7 as I feel that £8.50 is nothing short of extortionate!
RECOMMENDED?
So, do I recommend this? That depends on what you intend to use it for. As far as most eyeshadows and non-waterproof mascaras go, I don't feel that this is really any better than cheaper options. It does come into its own if like me, you wear eye gloss and can't get those kind of products to remove these effectively. As a regular eye make- up remover, it's very over-priced but in my opinion, it is worth the price tag if you need something more intensive. However, I still wouldn't say that it's worth the full RRP. By all means, get in next time you have a £5 off voucher if you feel that your eye make-up needs this type of remover. Otherwise, the oily feel puts me off using it if I've only used normal eyeshadow and mascara and on these occasions, I'd much rather use something else.
Summary: Only preferred if you need a really good eye make-up remover.
