I bought this mainly because I'd heard a lot of good things about it and also because it's £5.00 cheaper than the hot cloth cleanser that I'd been using previously.
This retails at £9.95 per 200ml bottle, which isn't amazingly cheap but it's a slightly cheaper alternative to a lot of other hot cloth cleansers and it's well worth the money - it's just as good as the Liz Earle version. The cleanser is part of the No 7 range and it is only available from Boots.
It can be purchased via their website or in store and I had to buy mine online as there was no sign of it in my local store so I'm assuming that it had sold out, which wouldn't suprise me because there's quite a lot of hype surrounding it at the minute amongst us review writers and beauty bloggers!
The cleanser comes in a white cardboard box which I like - it makes it seem quite luxurious and expensive! The box has got a blue and white colour scheme and it's nice and simplistic. The No7 is written in large blue font and in smaller black font there's the product name. It states on the box that the cleanser is suitable for all skin types. A short product description reads 'reveals soft, hydrated, radiantly clean skin.' Inside the box there's the muslin cloth and of course the bottle, which is made from a sturdy, transparent plastic.
The bottle is a cylindar sort of shape and not at all bulky, which I find handy as I can easily fit it into my overnight bag when I'm staying at a friends. While the packaging is not particularly attractive, it doesn't look cheap and I quite like the simplistic design. The product and brand name are written on the front of the bottle in black writing and the top of the bottle has a plastic cap which pulls off to reveal a little pump.
The pump's dispenser hole dispenses just the right amount of product each time I press it down and I find two pumps, which equates to a 50 pence sized blob is enough to cover all of my face - a little goes a long way and the smooth cleanser glides over my face without dragging on my skin or blobbing up and becoming tacky. The cleanser is quite average in appearence and consistency - it's white and quite thick, but not so thick that it feels like a heavy layer on my skin. It's also not quite as thick as the Liz Earle cleanser, but it's just as effective.
I use my fingers to apply it in an upward circular motion and I find it quite relaxing to be honest - it feels really soft and silky against my skin and it's not got that horrible overlly cold/wet kind of feeling that some cleansers have. Like all cleaners I use this all over my face and neck. I found with my previous cleanser that my skin would actually absorb most of it because it's so dry, but because this is nice and thick there's still a lightweight layer left even after a couple of minutes.
Once I've applied the cleanser I run the muslin cloth under some hot water and lay it over my face. This opens the pores and it's extremely relaxing as well and I love the gentle scent, however I do sometimes skip this step and just leave the cleanser on on its own for a few minutes. After leaving the cleanser on for a few minutes I remove it with a flannel or the muslin cloth. The muslin cloth is soft and gentle on my skin however the cleanser sticks to it and becomes gloopy and it's hard to get it off, so I usually use a flannel.
My skin always feels absolutely amazing after using this - soft, clean and moisturised and it looks brighter as well. The cleanser gets rid of every last ounce of make-up and my skin feels gorgeous. Even the day after using it my skin feels soft and well cared for and I've noticed that since I started using this my T zone hasn't been dry at all. The cleanser is hypo-allergenic and very gentle on my skin - in the two weeks that I've been using it I have had no irritation or redness.
Overall, I can't recommend this product enough and I give it a well deserved five out of five stars.
