No7 Dream Lash Mascara
Disadvantages: expensive, clumps lashes together, takes ages to dry
I received this mascara free when I was at a "girls day out event" in Glasgow. We got a free Boots gift bag for buying the ticket for the event and this was one of the products in it.
You can only buy this product in boots as it is exclusive to boots. It comes in one size which is a 7ml tube which isn't very much for mascara and you can find mascaras cheaper which have more in them.
You you remove the brush, you notice that the brush is very week. There are some tiny plastic frizzles coming down in straight lines and it isn't particularly the best brush you can buy. The colour which I was given was black and as far as I'm aware this is the only colour it is available in.
I find that most of the mascara gets caught at the top end of the brush, the part that has no frizzles on it and is basically useless. This part of the brush always swipes the inside of my eye which is very annoying as it means I have reapply my foundation because of it.
When applying the mascara, you have to press down quite hard on the brush as the frizzles are very tightly packed and it's hard to squeeze your lashes through them. I much prefer a fluffy brush and because the frizzles don't continue right down to the end of the brush, you are unable to catch the corners of your lashes.
After applying it, I noticed that it did stick a lot of my lashes together. There seemed to be massive gaps in my lashes and it did look very silly. The length did appear slightly longer although I wasn't magnificently impressed by it and I've seen a lot better for a lot cheaper brands of make-up.
The mascara is useless for bottom lashes so don't try it, it will just get all over your face and it will become an absolute mess. I also noticed that the mascara takes ages to "dry", so try not to touch your eyelashes for about five minutes after you apply it.
The mascara is in no way waterproof so if you manage to get caught in the rain - prepare for panda eyes! I put this on in the morning and it did last me all day so I do have to say it is very durable and will last quite long provided you don't get caught in any water. Although with the look this mascara gives you, you probably won't want it to last all day.
You can buy it for £12 in Boots and I think that's a ridiculous price as you can get much better mascaras for this price and from cheaper brands too!
Summary: It was a disaste
