Advantages: Nice glossy finish, easy to apply with good consistency
Disadvantages: Doesn't live up to the claims, chips quite quickly
I don't use nail polish much as I don't like the fact that it invariably flakes and chips off at a later date. If I am going to use it, I will only use it on my toenails as it seems to last longer. In the summer when I am more likely to wear open toe shoes, nail polish is a must for me! My nail polish of choice is this one in a red shade that is quite bright and dramatic.
Application
Over the years, I have tried lots of different brands of nail polish and most don't convince me to buy them again. This was different though as it was easy to apply and the nail polish itself wasn't too thick or too runny - it was just the right consistency to get a good application on your nails. Unlike other brands, the nail polish hasn't thickened up in the bottle or started to change colour as some do after you have had them for a while.
The Colour
Once applied, it gives a nice glossy colour that looks quite professional and slick.
Staying Power
This nail polish claims to stay chip-free for up to five days, but this certainly wasn't the case with my nails. When I used this on my fingernails, it didn't last any longer than any other type of nail polish that I have previously used. It started to chip off after around a day. This seems to happen mostly at the fingertips, which rather ruins the effect and means that I have to take it all off and start again. In this respect, I disagree with the Stay Perfect name of the product as it doesn't stay perfect for long on my nails, probably because I do a lot of typing as part of my work.
On my toenails, it lasts longer. It will usually take three to four days for the colour to start chipping but in some cases I have had it on for weeks before it starts to look a mess.
Based on my experiences, I would say that this is a good option for using on your toenails as it takes longer to start chipping. However, if like me you use your fingers a lot, this is no different to any of the less expensive options out there.
Availability
As a No 7 product, you can only find this at Boots stores. It is priced at around £6.10.
Summary: A nice enough nail polish but still chips quite quickly
