Advantages: TOP QUALITY NAILVARNISH THAT LASTS LONGER THAN MOST.
Disadvantages: CAN BE PRICEY COMPARED TO OTHER RANGES - ALTHOUGH YOU DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR IN THIS CASE.
Noticed on my reading/rating 'Dooyoo' various travels that No7 Stay Perfect nail varnish is on the review list, and thought: 'Hmm, I could write about this'.
Now I don't know about you, but sometimes it's hard to think of a product to write a straightforward endorsement of - but I can certainly recommend this top nail care range.
No7 and I go back way back when, and to be honest there aren't many toiletries/cosmetics items I don't like that comes under this Boots 'own label' banner.
The quality tends to be consistently high, with the nail colours' wide range being no exception. The standard nail varnish bottle size is 10ml; however Boots tend to release mini 4ml sizes in multi-packs for ready for each Christmas.
I quite like this size as its ideal for travel purposes, as well as enabling the customer to try new and different colours without paying for the full-sizes version.
My all-time favourite of this brand is 'Milan 70' - a delicate pink with a hint of sassy sparkle within its lacquered depths! 'Milan 70' has accompanied me all over the world; well not literally, but we've been Trans-Continental several times together, as well as more European in distance many, many times.
This lovely 'girlie pink' has never bored me, nor have I cast it aside for more fashionable colours, even though I have many of the No7 Stay Perfect shade varieties. One of the reasons I rate it so highly, is that, as with all the Stay Perfect varnishes, it dries very quickly - and if you're in a rush then, at a push you can get away with one coat...
Priced at around the £6.22 mark since the 2.5% reduction in VAT; Boots tend to keep their No7 series very well stocked, except when on special offer when it literally flies off the shelves!
Any 'deep' colour such as this should always have a base coat underneath (again I use No7's, as it's great as even a rapid glossy make-do-and-mend-quick-shiny-fix if I don't have time to even paint my short talons quickly), and if you have time to pamper yourself fully, two coats of any of the colours looks wonderfully richer, plus lasts so much longer.
Rather than using the usual Top Coat I use the normal No7 clear coat, as I tend to find it's less sticky and sets a lot better.
Because this is a superior product, it does cost around double of some of the cheaper brands such as Rimmel (although a great varnish in its own right for its funky younger colours!), but with Stay Perfect you really do get what you pay for.
It coats beautifully, sets like crystal, and tends to be chip-resistant, especially if you manage to dual paint layer it on.
It is even possible to build up your own French Manicure set within the range; I have done this twice as gifts for girls, as there is a Nougat shade that makes a perfect one colour base for the white tips that adorn the fingernail tips.
My best friend loved her DIY set I assembled from No7's So Smooth Base Coat, the delicately natural Nougat colour, Stay Perfect White, plus Stay Perfect Clear, as it lasts so much longer than the cheaper complete Manicure sets on the market.
In my opinion one of the very best things about this creation is how well it sets; some of the more inferior brands can be very 'plastically' when hardened, therefore catch and snag more easily - not a problem with the No7 merchandise.
Every so often new shades are introduced which I like trying - especially if one matches a new outfit.
What?
I am female after all...we ladies like things that colour co-ordinate with our nail polish!
No7 are also, belatedly, getting quite modern with their hues - dark has been trendy for a while now and Boots have brought out the new offerings of 'Blackberry', 'Dark Temptress', and the like. My Emo/Gothy teenage daughter loves these deeper hues as well as the very bright, vibrant reds that are becoming 'Scene' (...don't ask, it only costs you more money!).
All in all, I can wholeheartedly recommend this collection of nail varnishes, therefore Boots I hereby award you with a super-shiny, shimmery 5 Star Dooyoo Award!
Top Tip
*******
Regularly Boots have a special promotion when you spend £5 in store on pretty much anything, then you get a £5 voucher off No7 products - including their cosmetics range. This is a fantastic deal meaning you can get a quality varnish for just over £1, if you so choose!
In addition, if you have a Boots advantage card you will get 4 points for your £1 cash spend, effectively meaning you get another 4p back onto your card to be deducted off any future purchases within the store. Works for me, dooyoo'ers...
I have never paid full price yet for any of their nail polishes, and I probably never will! 'Der Der'!
Summary: ONE OF MY FAVOURITE PRODUCTS THAT I USE ON A REGULAR BASIS, THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED.
