Advantages: drys fast, cheap, lots of funky colours

Disadvantages: bit childish, brand aimed at younger generation

I was in Superdug today, doing my usual wander around the make up concessionsvand saw this nyc brand. I had never actually noticed them before but was drawn over as they had a good offer going on their polishes; £1.79 each or 2 for £2.99. Sounded a good bargain and I love nail polish (I have around 25 bottles and counting!) So I'm always looking to expand my collection as I am not particularly loyal to any brand. I ended up getting this in a clear colour and a goldy/bronzey/brown shade.

*** Appearance ***

This polish comes in a small 9.7ml pot. They do look on the cheaper, childish, girly scale of the market, probably aimed at girls 13+ (or whatever age they start painting their nails these days!) So this brand isn't really for the more "sophisticated" woman! (Suits me fine, I'm still in my 20s!).

They come in loads of bright funky colours, like pinks and greens and oranges so there is a good range of variety.

*** Usage ***

Using it today I was actually super impressed. The polish itself was quite thick and substsntial. I've often had experiences when the colour on my nail doesn't quite match as it appeared in the bottle but this one was exactly identical and looked lovely! As expected with all nail polishes it needed 2 coats to give a good even coverage on my nails and give it a nice finish, but from years of experience this is to be expected with any brand.

The brush is on the small side, but again as the pot is so small it is to be expected! The brush is secure in the base of the lid which is large and round for good grip for application.

In terms of drying I was extraordinarily surprised! I started to paint one hand but little madam (2 year olds eh?) Demanded attention so I was required to stop what I was doing to attend to her. I was annoyed as I knew she would smudge the hand I had already completed but to my surprise it was dry and didn't smudge at all! I didn't even need to use a drying spray! Mega happy! It literally took about a minute and although I have a rimmel 60 second dry polish I actually think this one is much better!

*** Overall ***

I really like this brand now, and so will be keeping an eye out in Superdrug stores for them more often! I'd definitely recommend!

Summary: definitely recommend this polish
