Advantages: Cheap, long lasting, light and thin coverage, covers well.

Disadvantages: Perfumed foundation.

Anyone who reads my reviews will notice, I love foundation! And after shopping yesterday, I noticed a fairly new brand to my local Superdrug, which was NYC or New York Colour, and they had a range of make up, but my eye was caught by the Skin Matching Foundation, as it boasted a lot about the product and was a good price, so I thought it was good to give it a go!

The packaging of the foundation is really simple but nice, the foundation is in a clear squeeze tube, with a black banner on the top of the tube, which has the NYC logo. The tube is clear, which shows the colour of the foundation, although it looked much darker in the tube then I hoped. There is information of the front of the tube, which states the shade of colour and says the product "adapts to Skin's Colour and Texture" and it has "Vitamins A, C, E". On the back of the tube, there is more information about the product, such as it is "suitable for all skin types and has a "blend of minerals", which are quite large claims for a foundation. Although there is a large amount of information on the back, it is in really small font, so be difficult to read. Ingredients are also stated on the back of the tube.

NYC Matching Foundation comes in a range of 5 shades, 685 (lightest), 686, 687, 688, 689 (darkest). I was fairly disappointed in the selection of shades, as most brands do have a larger selection of shades, and I find it difficult find a shade I want, and some women won't find their shade in the NYC selection. I am currently reviewing 686, as it is the lightest, so should suit my skin tone.

Applying the foundation was pretty tricky, just squeeze abit out of the tube, but I can be difficult to not get too much out of the tube, and with this brand, the tube consisted of a lot of air, which was weird, but made it fairly difficult to get a small amount of the foundation out. The foundation is fairly liquid-y, so it is really easy to apply with fingers and with a sponge. The first thing you notice about the foundation is the smell, it smells like perfume, which I personally don't like as it is quite strong smelling and it lasts throughout the day, so if you don't like perfumed foundations and strong smelling product, then I would avoid this product.

The foundation was really light and liquid like, which made it really easily to apply and blend in, which is a real contrast from other foundations, and it allowed me to get a much more even and thin layer of foundation, but if you want a thicker layer, then this foundation is not really for you. As the foundation allowed a thin layer, it enables my skin to breathe and it feels really light on my skin, which I love as that heavy and thick feeling, feels horrid and often causes me to have spot out breaks. The colour of the foundation actually is much lighter then the tube implies, which is a real positive to fellow pale skin people, and the foundation does match my skin colour, which I guess means the foundation has lived up to it's name, but I'm not sure about the technology or just the shade matches my skin colour, either way it's great! I wasn't expecting the foundation to last long, but it did last a pretty considerable amount of time, maybe 6/7 hours, which is a real positive, but you might have to re-apply throughout the whole day.

New York Colour is a fairly new brand, and you can buy the Skin Matching Foundation for £3..99, which is a real bargain, and currently can buy it in Superdrug.

Summary: A really good and cheap foundation!
