Advantages: Cheap to try for a small amount
Disadvantages: Everything
When I bought this product, it was because my new Avon one didn't have a brush and I was actually only buying this because it was a cheap way to get a kabuki brush.
This mineral foundation is similar to the others, comes in a plastic pot with small holes which allow you to sift through a small amount of minerals at a time to fill your brush and although its cheap its only a third the size of the Avon one so works out more expensive
Good Points
Not tested on animals
Natural SPF
Cheap (but not a big size)
Readily available
Bad Points
Very poor coverage
Doesn't enhance your face
It contains an SPF12 through Titanium Dioxide which is apparently a natural sun block. Who said beauty couldn't be educational.
There were a number of shades to choose from none of which were particularly suited to darker skins but as I'm quite fair skinned I chose 687A natural light
Having learnt from the Avon minerals that less is more and to blend blend and blend some more I loaded the small brush tapped off the excess and began to brush over my face. I didn't see much difference so I did it again, and again and again. however so many hairs came out of the brush I looked like I had a beard
Even with so many layers of foundation on there was still very little coverage. I wasn't going out so left it at that but when I took my make-up off later that evening there wasn't a single piece of evidence on the muslin cloth (big Liz Earle fan) that I had put any foundation on at all.
Of the three mineral foundations I have now tried this was the worst and taking weight into consideration and the unusable brush probably the most expensive.
This is available from Superdrug for £3.99 but don't do it.
Summary: If you want to try Mineral foundation avoid - this will put you off

- 07/08/08 I found exactly the same thing - it was like it vanished the moment it hit your skin! |
