You don't always get what you pay for... (NYC Smooth Mineral Loose Foundation Powder)

I'm writing a review about this, just to contrast what others have said about this powder. I have had it for about a month or so now, and i actually think its alright.

Although i buy a lot of make up, i usually end up sticking to the same old thing and my new product goes into the bottomless pit of my make up drawer. However, i bought this just to "try out" the concept of mineral foundation and i was pleasantly surprised.

my plan was to buy this and then if i liked it buy a more expensive one, but i've been using this every day with no hassle and have not touched my regular liquid foundation once since.

The real negative point about this is the brush they give you which as one reviewer stated " neither use nor ornament" but hell, i never use crappy brushes they give you with make up anyway. I used my own power brush, and applied it for the first time.

it felt kind of weird at first, like i was just putting face power on. it felt initially as though i got no coverage, but i put a bit more on, and lo! it covered up open pores really well, and made fine lines look better. normally by the end of the day, my face is a bit oily and my foundation sitting in the creases, but this is really good. your skin feels lighter with it on, and this has SPF 15 in it too which is great. I use the lightest colour and find it a good match.

I've not used foundation or concealer since using this and its still in my make up bag. i bought mine from superdrug for 3.89, and i think it's an awesome product for the money and gives you a great chance to give mineral foundation a go!

Summary: Great to give mineral a go with and good for everyday
