**Who are NYX** NYX are a fairly new and modern brand of make up. They do not fall within the high end brands like MAC or Clinique but instead are priced alike makeup rivals Rimmel and Max Factor so can therefore be described as middle of the road in terms of price and reputation. If i'm being honest I'm not entirely sure which high street shops stock NYX cosmetics I think that Superdrug might but again I'm not certain. If you are wanting to sample NYX products your best bet is to buy online which can be risky as colours can look different on a computer screen to real life and also the quality and finish can not be tested first hand like it can if your purchase cosmetics from a store. The NYX round lipstick comes in a black, shiny plastic case which is no different to any other lipstick. It has the NYX logo in white text on the lid and the shade of the lipstick can be found on the top of the product. The bottom of the packaging has a transparent strip at the bottom meaning that the exact shade of lipstick can be seen which is very handy when scouring the shelves as you can see the colours first hand without taking off lids etc. Equally, it can be just as handy if this lipstick is in a makeup bag, if you have more than one NYX lipstick you can easily pick out the one you want. I purchased this NYX lipstick in 'strawberry milk' shade which looked like a soft, but nevertheless pigmented, pink colour. There are loads of NYX shades from daring purples and reds to softer pinks and peaches so there is sure to be a shade to suit every skin tone and taste. Applying the lipstick is great due to the very soft texture of the lipstick. The slight glossiness helps the application process, too. I do find that you need to go over the lipstick more than once to get an even finish. Durability is the aspect that I think the product fails on completely. Drinking and eating is a no-no when wearing this lipstick as it wipes off way too easily and looks messy and uneven I purchased this lipstick using an Amazon giftcard that I got from a survey site and it cost £5.90 including delivery. I think £5.90 is very expensive for a product that doesn't last longer than an hour at most.
I'm gutted that my local chemist has stopped selling the NYX make up because they always had a good range of lipsticks and lip liners. Their Round lipsticks are the best I've ever used and believe me I've used a million different lipsticks in my life and I'm devestated that you can't buy them now apart from online at very expensive prices. In fact if you were selling any NYX lipsticks on Ebay early this year then I probably brought some off you because I stocked up on about 20 from Ebay when I realised the brand was going down the pan in the UK. Even the packaging of these lipsticks was better than the rest because they come in a plain black tube but the bottom is see through so I can look into my heavily packed make up bag and see at a glance what colour I'm looking for because you can see the colour through the tube. The one I used today is exactly the same as the one in the photo Dooyoo have got and it's a wicked colour. All the NYX stuff is brighter and it reminds me of the Barry M stuff that is so popular at the minute but NYX isn't quite so bright and out there as Barry M. The NYX Round lipsticks are so smooth and creamy to apply that they don't seem like a budget brand and it's mad to think that my chemist were selling them for just £2.99 until they discontinued them. The lipstick glides on really smoothly and when it's on your lips it feels creamy and not greasy at all. It's easy to build colour up as well because even though the colour is bright you have to put 2 coats on to get a proper bright colour so if you just want a sheer look then you just put it on very lightly and if you want a bolder colour then just put 2 or even 3 coats on and it won't look overdone. The colour lasts brilliantly as well and before now I've put it on in the morning and it's still looking good at 5pm and I don't think there are many lipsticks that you can say that about. There's loads of different colours available in this range and I think the Americans are soooooooooo lucky that it's available in nearly every shop over there! I've got colours ranging from a very, very pale mauve right up to a nearly black purple that's much too dark for my colouring but I still wear it sometimes when I'm after a dramatic look. Bring back NYX I reckon, do you want to sign a petition because if they can do it for the overrated Wispa then surely a top cosmetics brand like this can be forced back!
These lipsticks are one of the things that make this brand famous. They are so inexpensive yet great quality and a great colour selection. Currently NYX isn't really available in the UK so I have to buy it from American websites but that doesn't bother me. What does become an issue is when swatches aren't up to scratch but that's a whole other issue! Anyway, these lipsticks are amazing. They ahave a range of finishes from creams to mattes to shimmers and sheers. The mattes and creams can be a little drying sometimes but you can fix that with a moisturizing balm underneath. They don't really last that long on the lips but for $1.99, it doesn't seem to matter. My favorite shades are probably Thalia (a lovely nude pink colour), Snow White (the truest red you will ever meet) and Vitamin (a peachy gold colour that is great layered over other lipsticks). You can pick these up from Cherryculture.com, eBay and nonparielboutique.com for under $3 and shipping to the UK isn't half bad.
****NYX Round Lipstick**** Recently i have started wearing make up more regularly so when my friend was stocking up on some nyx cosmetics on a recent holiday we had i decided to give them a try. **Nyx** This is an American make up brand that aims to sell high quality make up products at affordable prices and as such they are often compared to mac cosmetics. I was attracted to the fact that their products seem to come in a bright range of colours, one thing you can say about my make up is that it doesn't often blend in hehe. **Packaging** The lipstick tube itself comes in a black tube. The bottom of it is clear and you can see the lipstick colour through it. This bit also detaches so when you finish the lipstick you still have a little in the bottom, not that i have got that far. **Product** This has a creamy texture to it and moisturizes your lips when applied. There is a wide range of colours from iris(a white shade) to Penelope (almost black). On the website there are currently 162 shades available so there will probably be at least one you like!!!I love the variety in this range. The colours are nice on but they do not last as long as the more upmarket brands such as nars, i don't mind though as i don't think its much of a big deal having to reapply after a couple of hours. **Availability and prices** The full range is available at http://www.nyxcosmetics.com for $3.50 but unfortunately they do not deliver to the UK.(they are also available in over 300 shops in the USA. A slightly smaller range (about 100) is available at http://www.cherryculture.com/ for $2 each-again an American site but they ship internationally. http://shopcraze.com-offers around 18 different shades for $1.50 each and they take paypal. As you can see the price for this does vary quite a bit so it is worth looking around for it. This is a nice lipstick and although it doesn't last the longest amount of time it is worth it for the price. I also like how the colour you see on the website is how it looks when you put it on. also on ciao.co.uk and com
