Loving Olay beauty products so much and my must have favourite cosmetic product of all time being blusher it was only to be expected that when I saw this that I'd buy it.
Now let me say at this point I can't think of anywhere that stocks the full cosmetic range and I've racked my brains. I found mine in a bargain bin in a local chemist for 99p! So if your interested in purchasing this you do need to do a little investigating on line and of course it can be purchased also on line in discount shops and the likes. Now as I said I recently purchased one and I loved it and I have used it before (long time ago) and loved it then too but with difficulty in getting hold of it I just moved on really and buy any blusher that takes my fancy!
As on review photograph at the top of this page. It has a see through flip top plastic lid with the Olay brand face on it and the base is black plastic and on that I'm told it's blusher and the colour I have purchased. There is a decent slab of colour in there and in that the brand face is engraved into it and beneath that there is a small black blusher brush. Nice enough packaging but do be aware that the clear part of the compact isn't as robust as the base so dont go clonking it anywhere!
Well it's a blusher! Use it as as you would do any other blusher! The brush is nice, soft and gentle and a decent size for shaping and defining the cheekbones. I have also used this as eye shadow and it works great being long lasting and none creasing.
The powder, to the touch is soft and velvet like in texture and it comes off onto the brush really easily and what's nice about it is that although it's a powder and doesn't feel moist it doesnt flake everywhere and I dont need to tap my brush to remove excess powder before applying it to my face thus getting my little compact in a mess or wasting product! I hate that! It gently smellls cosmeticy but not in a bad way and by the time you apply it in on your face it doesnt smell at all.
Now of course if you wish you can apply it all over your cheeks for a subtle hint of colour or use it to define and shape, it's entirely up to you of course. It goes on as soft as velvet and makes skin feel so soft like you've put some baby powder on your face!
The couple of colours I have used in the past didn't contain glitter and I'm pretty sure from memory none of them do but they are slightly light reflecting that a give a nice shimmer to your skin tone that gives a healthy glow.
Really simple and unfussy to use and simply elegant. The colours are not in your face or high fashion but being hypo-allergenic and dermatollogically tested they are kind to skin and give nice results. If you make a mistake it's easy to correct a mistake though making one in the first place is near on impossible but if you find the colour too dark or deep blot some tissue over the top or some pressed powder and problem solved. Once applied you can expect the colour to stay put for about 6 hours (give or take). Of course the more you apply the longer it stays on type of thing.
I personally find it very nice to use on many levels. I have sensitive skin with greasy patches on my cheeks and towards my temples my skin goes a into tiny wrinkles when I smile. This is an intelligent blusher. It doesn't make my greasy bits go more greasy and it doesn't sit in wrinkles and look powdery or fake and on them grounds I can recomend this to anyone! I haveno problems in using this with more spots, or drier skin or anything and if you wan to remove it it's simple. No extra requirements just remove using your usual make up removing routine!
