Advantages: Hard wearing and excellent quality
Disadvantages: quite expensive but worth it for quality
I have been using OPI nail varnishes for a long time in my nail salon because they are of a good quality and don't chip easily unlike cheaper products that I have tried. They are expensive compared to other brands but they are the best so worth every penny.
The range of colours is vast from vivid reds to wacky blues and silver shades but the most popular colour is Cotton Candy.
I think that my customers go for this particular shade because it is nice and fresh being a pearlised pink with a slight hint of neon to it.
There are always new shades coming out so I often check these new lines to keep up with the times, customer's tastes change quite frequently depending on the season and of course they like to keep up with the latest fashion colours.
The bottles are glass with chunky black lids and the application brushes attached to the lids are a good thickness, I particularly like these brushes because the varnish goes on at just the right thickness and I can get three even strokes to cover the entire nail.
The shape of the bottles is comfortable to hold whilst applying to the nails and this is quite important to me using nail varnishes for most of my working day.
It is very quick drying and lasts for ages so well worth the cost of 9.50 for a 15 ml bottle. I have been using this brand for over two years now and they are all still in perfect condition but I think that this is down to how you look after them.
I always ensure that the necks of the bottles are clean after every application I think that this is down to my college days when students used to treat stock shabbily and I would have to hunt for a decent bottle of varnish that had not gone sticky or tacky due to the bottle not being closed properly.
When you are paying for your stock you soon realise that taking a little more care saves a lot of money.
Leaving nail varnish in direct sunlight or in a very warm environment can also cause it to go sticky very quickly so I tend to keep them in a cool cupboard especially in the summer months.
I tend to buy in bulk to get a better price but I have had quite a few bargains on the out of season shades at times from the internet so it is a good idea to shop around, my last order cost me 10.00 for ten shades although I did not get a choice on the shades it was a lucky dip, but they will get used in the salon over time.
I highly recommend all shades of nail varnish from OPI because of the outstanding vibrant colours and of course the quality so if you want an elegant shade of nail varnish that is a dream to apply and very hard wearing then give this brand a try, you will not be disappointed.
Summary: You pay for this stuff but it lasts forever if looked after properly.
