      A great lipstick

Oriflame is similar to Avon you can purchase online or through a representative. All their products are free from animal testing and for this reason it is slightly more expensive than Avon but not overly so. What first pulled me towards this product were its promises. It has a special formula meaning it claimed to be a lip balm, gloss and lipstick all in one product. It has three different layers of the product in the core of the lipstick first is a white balm with a larger circle of sparkles outside it and finally on the outer ring is the lovely rose colour. It looks very interesting when I opened the product as you can see all three layers making up the lipstick.

      **In use and results**

The lipstick has a slanted edge to make for easier application and was a good size to be able to coat the lips with one stroke bottom and top. You obviously need to prep the lips making sure they are smooth as with any lipstick it seems to highlight any dry areas and although it works too sooth while on it does need a smooth surface to look nice.It glides on very easily and I only need one coat for a day time look. If you want it a little more outstanding you can add another coat without it looking too much so perfect for night and day wear. The colour is very pigmented; I have the rose shade which is lovely but if this is not your colour there are a range of shades available including deeper shades of brown up to light shades of pink.

As soon as the product is on my lips I can feel the balm aspect of the product, my lips feel softer and even in appearance they look a lot fuller. This balm continues to work for hours if my lips feel a little dry I simply rub them together which seems to release more moisture making them feel soft and even again. There is a notable shimmer but it is not too much just enough to make the lipstick shine in the light. It does not look too sparkly or over dramatic so is perfect for day wear as well as night.
It does last very well I can put it on in the morning and I do not need to top it up until afternoon time after I have numerous cups of tea and my lunch. The colour does fade a little within the first hour but you can still feel the results of the soothing balm. In the mirror I could see that although the colour had faded rather quickly there was still a subtle tone of rose which was still visible just a lot less so than when first applied. It dries really quickly which is great for fast application. I also find that it does not transfer as much as other lipsticks I own which is great as this helps with the staying power.

For the claims this doubles up as a gloss I was not too impressed but I was more interested in the lip balm with colour as my lips are always dry, even more so when I apply lipstick. My lips did shine after application but this was due to the sheer finish of the product and was a glimmer of sparkles rather than a wetter look of gloss. It does not dry my lips out at all thanks to the balm contained in the middle of the lipstick. This is a major advantage for me as most lipsticks tend to leave me with dry cracked lips after use. I love this lipstick I found it has lived up to all of its claims apart from the gloss. I much prefer a dryer finish to the wet finish so this did not matter to me but maybe something to think about if you are buying it for the gloss purpose.

      **Downsides**

I found as the product began to fade away the colour faded first, then the balm and finally the shimmer. These means once it has begun to fade you are left with a lot of shimmer on your lips and it seems to fall everywhere. Even when it came to removing my make up in the evening I found the shimmer still on my lips and while speaking to my children I noticed they too had it all over them from when I had given them a kiss for school.

      **Summary**

Overall I love this lipstick it helps keep my lips soft while adding colour at the same time. I am not sure about the gloss claim as to me it looked nothing like gloss. The high pigmented colour looks lovely and lasts really well. It is high quality lasts for ages and I would recommend it to anyone. I purchased it for £6 however regular retail is around £10 which I think is still good value as it does not need to be reapplied over and over again. I have ordered this in different shades as this now my favourite lipstick ever! I was a little dubious when I saw the concept on paper it seemed fantastic but so many products seem like a good idea and then fail badly. This however was even better than I had expected there are a few downsides but the positives outweigh them.
