      A nice eyeshadow

      The eye shadow

This eye shadow compact is called cocktails & the city which I ordered from my oriflame representative. It is a duo of eye shadows in one case but there is no separation between the colours so it does mean you have to blow any excess powder away after use to make sure they do not tint the other block of colour. You are provided with a small double headed brush with this eye shadow although there is no mirror. If I am at home I tend to use my usual eye shadow brushes but I have used the miniature provided with this eye shadow and it works rather well. It is not the most cushioned but there is a larger end that I like to apply the main area of eye shadow and then I find the little side is great for blending the eye shadow in. The casing of this eye shadow is durable and I have carried it around in my handbag with me without the powder breaking up inside or any damage to the case itself which I always like to see. It is very easy to open and has a brush provided for convenience.

      In use

I do find the eye shadow is a little powdery meaning it crumbles under the brush. Not too much so that you waste a lot of the product but enough to mean the brush can pick it up for application. I find that it coats my eye lids very easily with only a few strokes of an eye shadow brush to cover the lid and add some above for blending. What I like about these eye shadows is they are so easy to blend which means I can apply it quickly which is always a plus side for me. The eye shadow does have a light shimmer to it but it is very subtle and only glimmers in the light rather than looking too glittery. As it is powdery it means it does not sit straight away on your skin and you have time to blend it to the effect you would like.

As for lasting power I have noticed the two different shades last a different amount of time. The honey side which is obviously the lighter shade of the two is lovely when it first goes on and one of my favourite colours. However although it last for a good few hours it begins to fade half way through the day. Not so much that you cannot tell it is there but a considerable difference from when it is first applied. The darker brown shade is very unique and I have never found another shade that matches it. This lasts extremely well if I put it on first thing in the morning it lasts all day. As it is highly pigmented it gives a lovely intense colour.

When it comes to removing my make the shadow has lasted without any fading at all which is great. Removing the eye shadow is easy with a makeup wipe or some cleanser. It has never irritated my eyes at all and feels light on my skin. My only downside to these eye shadows is the choice of shades available. They only have three different duos' which include the brown/honey that I own, a purple/ pink cocktail and finally a green/white. I do think if there were more duos available I would definitely purchase more of them but at the moment the selection is very limited.

      Summary

I would highly recommend these eye shadow compacts I have the brown and honey shades which I love as they are nice and neutral. I prefer the brown shade as it is different from any other brown I own really lovely and rich without looking too dark on my eyes. They cost £4.95 per duo which is a reasonable price I believe. Although the brown lasts better than the honey colour it still lasts a long time and is highly pigmented meaning it gives nice bold colour.
