Pixi Correction Concentrate
Advantages: Gorgeous packaging, Makes eyes look wide awake!
Disadvantages: Only one shade available.
I bought this concealer on a whim, you know those times where you wander around Boots, spot something with a pretty fairy motif and buy it without really looking at what it is? No, just me then!
It comes in a gorgeous off white box with a beautiful floral garland border adding a delicate touch. The brand name Pixi is presented gold and bold in the centre. On the bottom of the box are the ingredients which do not include parabens (something I often look for.) Another great little touch is on the back, where the products states it claims, is a little message from the creator Petra, informing you that this product is the equivalent to a "10 hour sleep in a jar" on reading that I was immensely glad I had purchased! Once you open the box a pot measuring about an inch and a half in diameter is inside the contents. The lid is a very pale mint green with an orange fairy or 'Pixi' emblazoned on the front. By simply twisting the lid you access the product - it reminds me of the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Concealer design with the small glass pot.
I picked up the shade 'Brightening Peach' and after doing some research to find the other shades I realised that this is the ONLY shade available. I think this would be a strong disadvantage so I hope they get about making some more as I would definitely snap them up! However although the peach shade is gorgeous, its not a true orange peach as there is quite a lot of pink to it - more of a salmon colour which is fine by me as salmon concealers correct any brown circles and discolorations on they eye, where yellow and sometimes green balance our purple imperfections.
The consistency is very thick and very creamy - almost like a paste. Some people will love that concept and others will hate it! It's a cliché 'marmite' product but I absolutely LOVE it! I use my fingers for application rather than a brush or sponge as I find I can pick up just the right amount of product whereas a brush and sponge absorb a lot and waste quite a lot. Swirling your ring finger into the pot (you don't use your ring finger as much as your forefinger so you won't be as heavy handed when applying) it feels very similar to the Dream Matte Mousse, very smooth and very silky. I dab a little onto my eye lids and blend it in up to my brow bone, it blends very well and leaves a gorgeous moist sheen to the eye area making my skin look fresh and more awake - it really does appear as if I have had a good nights sleep! You can wear this on its own or with foundation, just make sure if you are wearing it on its own that you blend very well as you don't want people thinking you've got a bit of jaundice!
The pot contains 3g of product and is £12 from Boots. I think this is a brilliant amount of product for just over a tenner as it lasts for ages and my eyes like looking this rested - even after a late night out!
Its full cover 'camouflage' depending on how much you put on, I find I have to apply at least two coats to get it full coverage but usually the one is more than enough. As well as the amazing packaging, creamy consistency and brilliant blendability, it is also very good and nourishing for your skin as it contains Vitamin E to nourish and protect, Vitamin C to brighten and revitalize, Vitamin A for its anti ageing effect and also a Rose Hip Extract for its cell regenerating properties to boost skin elasticity.
I cannot recommend this product enough and anyone that will listen I tell them how brilliant it is and persuade them to try it! The only downside is the fact there is only one shade available, however I hope they do make some more as I look forward to sampling them and building up my Pixi Collection!
