“ Brand: Pixi / gloss / Type: Lip Fluid / Suitable for: Lip „
*Why did I purchase it?*
I find with lip products there is so much to choose from it can be overwhelming. I find lipstick doesn't cut it for me in the staying power part but it doesn't stop me from purchasing them.
While on the hunt for another gloss I came across a brand called Pixi Beauty, who I had never heard about before and was intrigued to try some of their products.
*About Pixi Fluid Lip Creme*
Pixi Fluid Lip Creme is described as intense colour, with a lovely silky finish and loads of gloss, it is moisturising to the lips as well as being long lasting unlike other lip glosses on the market today. This product is also infused with fresh mint oil.
Mint is mostly recognised as an ingredient in toothpaste, chewing gums and breathing inhalers as well as other products. It is a herb that also has remarkable medicinal properties.
Fresh Mint Oil is good as it has anti-septic properties, it helps to soothe skin and keep it moisturised.
*What does the packaging look like?*
Pixi Fluid Lip Creme's packaging is very simple but not a design I have seen with a lip gloss/creme before.
It comes packaged in a small clear plastic tube that is wider at the top and gradually slims down. The screw off cap is in matte silver with the name of the product is on a sticker on the cap. Writing on the front in white says Pixi Fluid Lip Creme. The back states it is a 9.5ml product and the web address.
*What I thought of it*
I only got one lip creme in colour Garbo, number 1. Garbo is a lovely nude/cameral colour that can be worn with any makeup application and won't look out of place. Unscrewing the lid like any other lip gloss there is a little built in sponge applicator that you use to apply the product to your lips.
Swatching the colour to the back of my hand I am surprised to see how pigmented it is and a little thick, glosses are normally sheer so I was surprised to see this. Even though the colour in the tube represents a nude/cameral colour in reality it is a lovely nude with pink, peach undertones that looks very easy to wear, even on the back of my hand this product looks very glossy without being runny in anyway.
*How easy is it to apply and does it last?*
Applying this product is very easy with the built in applicator, simply glide over your lips, it is also easy to get an accurate lip line with the applicator without going over the edges.
Because it is a thicker product it feels slightly difficult to glide on the lips as it tends to cling where it is put and feels sticky.
Unlike most glosses that can move on the lips and bleed due to them being runny I find this product clings onto the lips and doesn't budge while keeping them soft, like all glosses it can transfer easily onto cups and when you're eating but I find if you're out and about or not eating or drinking the fluid lip creme does not move from your lips and when it does transfer onto cups you will find you still have the colour and a gloss although some has been took off.
Out of all glosses I own this product stays on the longest, you are talking hours on the lips without budging, which is fantastic for a gloss.
While out and about in the cold, wind and rain other glosses and balms I own have either rubbed off, disappeared or look a mess. This product looked exact the same as when I applied it, however in the harsh wind my lips did feel a little dry but not as much as other glosses would.
For the price one might expect to get something tacky and awful to use, fluid lip creme is great quality for the price and not something I was expecting it to be.
*What other colours can I purchase?*
At directcosmetic.com there are only four colours to choose from and this range from Garbo to reds and pinks.
*Price and availability*
Pixi Fluid Lip Creme is cheap for what it is but I have managed to find it for and who I purchased it from for £2.99 from directcosmetics.com
Pixi Beauty store in London prices may be higher.
*What I think about it/do I like it*
Unlike Moisture Tint, which is sheerer I find this product lovely to use. I find Fluid Lip Creme unlike any other gloss I have ever used before, it stays put, the colour pay off is fantastic, however after a long period of wear I am finding it leaves the lips slightly dry but nothing to really complain about.
I would also say as a warning is to make sure your lips are in tip top condition before you apply this, as the gloss is thick, very pigmented and wont budge having dry lips will stand out a mile and ruins your whole look as well as making your lips look 10 times worse. If you have great conditioned lips this product will be your next best friend.
I would also say at the end of the day when you have removed this product is to apply a moisturising lip balm otherwise you will find your lips may become dryer.
I have worn this with a slight smokey eye for day time and this colour goes so well together, without looking made up or looking like you're trying too hard. If you are going for a natural look it is also perfect for making you look polished and glam.
With some glosses that are pale I find with my pale skin they can wash me out, with the pink and peach undertones I feel this does not happen.
I have also found while out and about if it is windy keep your hair out of the way as you will find your gloss may be over your cheek as well as your hair.
*Would I purchase again?*
I am unsure about the other colours in the range as I feel they are too pink and red for me but I would purchase Garbo in a flash.
