Would buy again as it feels lush on the lips

This lipstick i bought as it was on offer at a local store i visit i bought it in the charade shade No 70
the box is aimed for those that are aged around 14-15 and is what i call pretty tacky , the contents though are
what matter the lipstick itself is rather a novelty in the way they have the playboy motif on it in silver with a few stamped on the
lipstick wand cover , like i said its more of a novelty as it does not really serve a purpose and in any make up bag it will soon snap off!
the lipstick when applied seems to keep its lustre quite well and seems to be non-drying which is good as it can appear that you are wearing
a lipgloss too, it is almost a creamy velvety texture when it is applied and seems to have some sort of collegen in it as it made my lips seem to plump up a little , either that or its a reaction! they say it is is supposed to be long lasting but i foud i did have to re-apply about 3 hours after, which did not bother me or ruin my night , when this is applied it is nice on the lips and does not tend to bleed even if no lip pencil is used.
even though i do like this lipstick i dont think i will buy this paticular shade again but will venture to trying others in the range.
so this, dispite its novelty packaging is a must for the make up bag on a night out.

      Disadvantages

Good product for the price, looks good and feels good on!

I am usually a Boot's No7 girl but decided to try the Playboy red carpet lipstick after buying it whilst on offer for £2. I thought if it is no good for me i can give to my 9yr old daughter for playwear!

I was quite impressed with the packaging and the lipstick container itself! Looks fab and if you like the Playboy range you will love this! Bling it is! Nothing subtle about it! lol

The lipstick itself was a lot better quality than i thought it would be.......

It went on very smoothly and has a creamy texture on the lips. The colour was not quite the shade i thought it was but still looked fab. It was also long lasting for normal day use and i only needed to top up once during the day whereabout i usually re-apply my lippy 2 / 3 times day.

It claims " The formula is infused with a lip plumping complex to increase the blood flow to create fuller, rounder lips " and i def think my lips look fuller and pouty when i have this lipstick on.

I use this lipstick regulary now as a day lipstick but still go for a pricer one for going out and evening wear.

        A great quality lippie!

After loving Playboy lip-glosses (please see review I did on those if interested!) when I spotted a variety of shades of the lippies in my local T.J Hughes priced at £2.00 each I was like a lamb to the slaughter and bagged a few of them! I had a date (with an idiot called Andy), well he turned out to be an idiot but least he was an ex model and singer... lol and I wanted (cos I thought I liked him) to have gorgeous pouty lips and I even knew the colour I wanted in mind and luckily it was available in this range. I was so pleased as they normally retail at about £13.00 each in Superdrug (but do shop about online etc or in shops such as T.J Hughes if interested!). I still can't believe the savings I made (top tip if there is a T.J Hughes near you do go in and have a good mooch about as there are usually bargains galore in there unless I've been in before you lol).

        The Packaging:

The lipstick comes in a dark purple oblong box with metallic bright fuchsia coloured lettering on it. 5 silver bunny heads go lengthways down the box and I'm told it is Red Carpet Matte Lipstick and the weight is stated (13 oz/3.7g). Other information on the box includes colour being stated, ingredients being listed and contact details for High Maintenance being given (the manufacturer of Playboy products). The tube of lipstick is a transparent pink colour and it's square and chunky in shape and you can see the silver tube of lipstick through the outer casing and there a sturdy bright silver bunny head to the top of it and down one side, again 5 silver bunny heads create a lengthways pattern. On the base of tube there is a colour coded sticker on there showing me my chosen colour and the colour is stated as is weight and again contact details for the manufacturer.

        The Lipstick Itself:

Well it's simply amazing stuff! Great quality, easy and simple to apply and reasonably long lasting.....ok I love it!

What I don't like however is the packaging! It looks young, slightly cheap and I feel a bit off putting for us older more mature wearers. Put it this way my Mum I know would adore this range but there is no way at 64 years old she's going to to pull this out of her handbag and use it in front of people lol! It's weirdly aimed at the younger market in my opinion yet the price tags are not cheap and some of the items price wise actually rival many very well known leading brands It's not awful but it really is very immature looking! The only thing I can say it's all very robust, scratch-proof and secure!

So to use it you simply twist the bunny head (at the top) and out it comes with the silver tube and your left holding the tube in one hand and the outer pink case in the other. Then you use the silver tube by twisting it up and down of course.

The lipstick itself has a very slight fruity smell to it but no taste at all when applied. You can of course apply this straight to the lips, use a lip-liner (I suggest you do with darker colours in the range for precision and to stop 'bleeding' which it can do a little into wrinkles around the lips) and it simply glides it on with ease.

Now this range of colours is matte and it's quite a thick consistency lipstick. However it glides on really easily (as I have mentioned already lol) and evenly and can be worn 'straight from the tube' or of course blotted but no need to apply, blot, reapply and blot and stuff it's just really an apply and go product meaning less fuss. Yes it does transfer off if applied and not blotted but not too badly and as it does that it sort of ingrains the rest of the colour into the lips making it become a lip stain in effect. I find it doesn't crumble off into the corner of my lips and it stays put rather well for about 2-3 hours.

Not only does it feel very conditioning when on the lips and although thick in consistency it doesn't feel heavy, when I remove it or it's worn off my lips they feel nicely hydrated which makes me feel there is some sort of hidden moisturiser in here.

        Verdict:

A great quality lipstick that has quite a bit of staying power to it! It's kind to the lips, really highly pigmented with rich colour and even seems to make my lips appear fuller! My date certainly liked the look of my lips and didn't stop telling me so! It's a classy product, it just a slight shame about the packaging but hey ho I shall continue using mine!
