A fantastic product - very highly recommended! :)

Playboy Duo Lip pencil/liner - twice the pleasure (shade crimson kisses)

I have never really seen the use of liner liners really but after using the dior lip liner (shade 513) which is amazing, I have been looking out for more. I saw this one on amazon and the shades looked great online so I bought it and I am really quite impressed with it.

      *About the product*

It comes in a dark purple thin box and it has the shade on the side, it is 1.38g or 0.49 us oz. The shade It also has two plastic lids/caps on each end of the lip pencil so that they don't get damaged. It Also comes in other duo shade too. And on various sites that sell this product it says that it contains antioxidants to soothe and protect lips.

      *My opinion of the product*

      -Packaging

I really like the packaging for this product it is simple and sleek. The liner is thina nd light so it is great to just keep in my make up bag or for on the go. The best thing about the packaging is that each end of the liner where the pencil would be exposed it actually covered with a cap/lid which is great, as it will not get damaged in my bag )or draw on my uni notes).

      -Shades

There are two shades the first is what looks like a darkish baby pink but when it is applied it goes a bit darker than it looks in the packaging. The second is a red colour, in the packaging it looks like a dark pink but when it is applied it is actually a brick red colour. I like both of the shades but next time I will get ones that are a little bit more wearable - although these shades can be toned down or built up, depending on the look you want.

-How I use the product, application and results

I don't use this as a lip liner, I use it as a lip pencil and I colour in my lips with it - I don't really line my lips with it. Firstly I apply a very moisturising lip balm, I use the Palmers cocoa butter lip balm which is fantastic! I then apply the pencil over my lips gentley - if you don't apply it softly then it will be really really bright. I find that it is really good at lining my lips and then blending it to colour all of my lips and it blends incredibly easily onto my lips.

I didn't really expect too much of this product as it was super cheap and it is...playboy. I haven't tried any of their products before but I didn't think that it would work as well as it does. I find that it applies incredibly easily, it does not drag on my lips, it does not make my lips look dry or flaky, it does not feel too heavy on my lips either.

The one of the best things about this product is that it has a creamy kind of texture which makes the product go on to my lips very easily, smoothly and it also gives a really even application of colour when blended.

Another thing that I really like about this product is that the liner its self is really pigmented, it has a lot of colour payoff and you don't need to apply a lot of the liner to get a lot of colour at all. The colour are really strong, vivid and defined.

I also like the finish the product, it gives a matte finish, but it does not make my lips dry or flaky, it also makes my lips look quite moisturised and hydrated. Although I find that if I don't put any lip balm on under this product that it can make my lips look a little dry and it does not apply as well. Although other than that it is great and it look really great on its own or you can put some lip gloss over the tops to give it a shiny/glossy finish, instead of a matte one. I personally like both the matte finish and I like it with a gloss over the top, it is a product that can look great when worn it various ways.

It is also quite easy to take off, I find that it is not so great at coming off just with water. I find that if I put a few drops of bio oil onto a cotton pad (not cotton wool - tried that and it just stuck to my lips - not a great look!) and then I just took the product off with the cotton pad and it works really well, it gets rid of about 90% of the liner, although it does tend to stay on my lips for a bit after.

      *Price and availability*

I bought this product from amazon.co.uk and it the crimson kiss shade version only cost me £2.16 (with free shipping!). It is also available from ebay and blushcosmetics.com for only £0.99p, which is great, although that price does not include delivery. Its RRP is £9.99.

      Conclusions
      Good points
*Very easy to apply and blend
*Great shades - which can be toned down or built up
*Matte finish but can be used with a gloss
      *Range of shades available
*Does not dry out my lips or make them look flaky
*Very pigmented - a lot of colour pay off
*Really really cheap - although not widely available
      *Relatively easy to take off

      Bad points

*none - expect that it is not really widely available and it does not seem to be a high quality brand either (in my opinion anyway) but it works fantastically
