Advantages: Cute packaging, long-lasting natural-looking colour, lots of product, a little goes a long way

Disadvantages: Becoming extinct!

Oh how I miss Pout, with their cute but not saccharine packaging, fun names and products that are as good as they promise to be. The Pout items I own are among my favourite and most-used make up items. I say I miss them - I actually found out about them after they went bust, but can't help wishing they were still around bringing out great new products. Still, there's plenty of opportunity to stock up on their products online, I certainly wouldn't call them rare just yet. And with beauties like this blush, that's a very good thing.

THE PRODUCT
This is a powder blush and I got mine in Pearly Queen, which I believe is the shade pictured but looks a lot brighter "in person" (in fact I was a little shocked when I first saw it). Unfortunately the amount of shades still available very much depends on what has become completely extinct and what hasn't - I've only managed to turn up about three shades searching the 'net.

Rather than just be a boring old tub of blush, Pout have contained the powder in a really adorable compact. It's made from strong plastic with a cute logo on the front and has an excellent mirror inside. The compact snaps shut securely and despite being about 2 1/2 inches in diameter (thus housing plenty of product, 5g to be exact), is thin enough that it doesn't take up too much room in a bag.

Ingredients are pretty standard compared to other blushes - talc being the main one and a variety of colours and scary-sounding names!

PUTTING IT TO THE TEST
Like I said, I was worried this was shockingly pink when I first opened it. However, a small amount applied with a fluffy face brush gives my fairly pale skin a really natural-looking glow. It's very easy to blend out, which helps if you do get a bit heavy-handed, and easy to build up colour. I would say it would suit most skin with pink/neutral undertones, but not necessarily do so much for olive skin.

I've tried a few powder blushes that have failed miserably in the staying-power stakes, but I find I don't have to touch this up at all during the day, which is ideal as I don't really enjoy carting around big face brushes. Like most powder face products, it's very easy to remove with my normal cleanser.

What I really love about this is that there is no shimmer. In my opinion, way too many face products have some. Okay, so maybe not so much blusher, but bronzers especially are a no-go for me if they are shimmery. Faces just don't do that naturally. This looks about as natural as they come.

VERDICT
I'm so impressed with this - long-lasting, natural colour and great design, what more can you ask for in a blush? I like it so much I'm considering getting another in case they're all completely gone by the time this one is used up, although its a pretty big compact and you need so little on your brush that could take quite some time!

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The only place to buy Pout products now is online - predominantly at discount makeup sites. I actually got my blush in a lot on eBay with four of their wonderful eyeshadow duos (which I believe I reviewed some time ago if interested), and the whole lot only cost about £15. On it's own, the blush is these days likely to set you back between £7-10. Not the cheapest, but considering how much you actually get, I think it's a pretty worthwhile investment.

Summary: Another great Pout product - why did they go bust?!

Loved this blush, SO pigmented. I gave it to a friend in the end since it didn't suit my skin too much, but gorgeous none-the-less!!

You should try "Sandy Swinger" if you can get hold of it - Gorgeous highlighter shade!
