Advantages: Nice packaging lovely smell

Disadvantages: Doesn't last long on the lips per application

When it comes to lip gloss (etc) I'm simply not a fan of them. I do purchase them from time to time though because like many of us ladies I do need a hint of colour on my lips and I see other women wearing it and it looks great on them but me...I simply don't like anything on my lips due to the usual slimy textures on them and the fact one minute you put something on, the next it's gone anyway and is a bit of a waste of my time!

However When I saw this lip-gloss/polish in T.J Hughes (in many current shades) at a pound a go I decided to try it out! The usual price for a Pout lip polish is around the £12.00 mark so I thought as usual it was a bit of a bargain (I had to have lol) and I have a friend who only uses Pout products so I was a bit intrigued as to why she thought it was so good and what a massive saving I made lol!

The Packaging....

The gloss/polish comes in a purple and light, baby pink contrasting box. On the front I'm told it is indeed 'Pout'. On the back of the box I'm told my colour (in this case it's Voluptuous Venus Lip Polish) and ingredients are listed, contact details for Pout are given and I'm told the product is made in the UK, size is stated (4g) and finally there is a bar-code on there. The box slides apart to the side to take the lip polish out and the compact itself is round, clear plastic that flips open easily enough at the front. On the top of the compact there is a lined light pink pattern with a clear P in fancy writing easily seen on there. On the bottom of the compact there is a light pink sticky label on there and again I'm told the colour, ingredients, size, contact details for Pout are once again all listed. It's nice, simple effective packaging and the compact is robust though I was annoyed no little applicator was given and there is of course no mirror or anything in there either.

Using It....

Well the polish it quite gloopy and smells really gorgeous of vanilla. It's quite greasy to the touch and I wouldn't advise you to use your finger cos it's a nightmare to get off so I use a little applicator (of my own) with this. It doesn't taste once on, it goes on even enough and once on my lips you simply blend it so the colour pigment takes onto the lips.

It's easy to use providing you go easy and use a little product at at a time and it doesn't taste and you can't really feel it once it's on lips apart from the fact it is a little hydrating and kind, soft and gentle.

Results...

Nice, satin sheen lips that are not greasy at all as I first assumed they would be visually when looking into the pot at the polish. However the colour doesn't last very long though once it's applied and I tend to put mine on and lose it after about half an hours wear which is a bit of pain really though but when freshly applied it does look real quality. My lips feel comfortable and there is little transfer (again providing you go easy with the polish and work it into lips well). For me though I don't like the fact that it doesn't have a place for an applicator and I don't like keep having to reapply it all the time!

For a quid it's great but I wouldn't love this for £12.00 although in it's defence it is a high quality product and you can simply feel that when wearing it.

Summary: Ok for a quid or so!
