I was recently treated to this by my daughter who wanted to thank me for having her children for a while. I do like luxurious skin care and make up items and my daughter knows this so treated me to this little make up eye shadow set which retails at over£15 so is way out of what I would normally justify spending upon myself. It is a lovely item which speaks of quality and does make me feel as though I have treated myself by wearing this when I apply it.
With Clarins products you pay for quality and you know that your make up is going to look and feel a lot more luxurious than others and I do love just looking at the little case that this comes in and thinking "Wow! This is mine!" It is an oval shaped palette which is shiny silver and fastens with a satisfying snap. It's a sturdy fastening so if you have this in your bag and it rattles around it isn't likely to undo and spoil in your bag like other brands may do. Inside the palette is a small mirror which is very useful it stops you needing to find a compact or have to nip to the toilets to sort out your make up if you're out. It comes with an applicator which is a short wand with foam pads on each side. I find these easy to use and work perfectly well as they are only short so you get good control over applying the make up. The shadows themselves are in a row of four and the colours all compliment each other. Mine is a purple hue set.
When applying this you can use the applicator, your finger or another application item that you may have. I like to just use the wand though as it's at hand and I find it easy to apply because it's very easy to control and it's only small so you can get into the creases of your eyes easily. I find that you only need to stroke the wand over the shadow for enough to come away and then it does come off teh wand and onto your skin easily. Some shadows require you having to use several strokes to get enough but this is so soft that you don't need to use lots.
The result is lovely. It goes onto the skin well and it blends well with the various shades in the pot. I like tha you can use the other shades to blend in and emphasise parts of your eyes. I think it looks lovely. It is the kind of eye shadow which makes an impact but in a subtle way, I don't look as though I have over done it and it does stay on throughout the day. It may need the odd touch up but that is all.
I like this eye shadow. It is lovely looking, easy to apply and very nice on the eyes. I like that it doesn't take long to apply as it is so soft too and the little mirror inside the palette is very practical and nice.
Clarins precious colours eye palette.
My make up bag is bursting with my Clarins collection of products just looking inside my guess would be there is at least £180 pounds worth or products. I wear make up everyday and have done since i was a teenager. Make to me is very important , it acts like a mask for me to hide behind, i'm very insecure about my looks and having a made up face everyday i feel beautiful and confident. Eye shadows are a bit of a nightmare for me , i'm so fussy and can never get my colours right however this has been made a little easier by Clarins.
I purchased the Clarins precious colours eye palette from Debenhams in january when they had a 20% off promotion so the set only cost me £14.99.
I love the case that comes with the small compact set, its a silver pouch that has the Clarins logo on it and a snap fastener its for storing the compact set in very nice. Clarins precious colours eye palette comes in a small oval shaped palette. Its silver in colour with, a soft moulded part on the top coloured brown as my eye shadows are mainly brown colours, this has a magnetic lid with a small mirror on the inside lid. When you lift the lid you can see they eye shadows and small applicator brush.
The applicator is small and fiddly with foam parts on the end, i don't like the applicator and only use it when i'm out or touching up but at home i use my Mac eye shadow brush. I find the eye shadow goes on beter with a brush.
Clarins precious colours eye palette contains four colours of eye shadow all in a line, these colours have been selected so they match. I have pallet with the brown more natural colours, but you do get others like purples etc.
Each colour in the pallet complements the other and many looks can be created without looking odd. My pallet is named earth eyes colour number 20 this is stated on a sticker underneath the pallet. There is a nice mocha shade of brown, light pink, bronze shade and a peach.
I have mainly used the bronze colour it has a nice sparkle to it and goes well with my dark eyes, i sometimes one the peach to blend it out. You can create a smokey eyes look by using the bronze , brown and peach together.
The powder gets sweeped over with my brush and smoothly colours my eye lid, the powder is pretty good it doesn't pick up to much on the brush nor does it brake up in the pallet.
It has staying power and the colour lasts over eight hours a day for me , i remove it with my make up remover at night and still have loads of the product coming off. I really like the precious colours eye palette, the colours are all nice, apply well, last well and the packing is very cute. I was happy with the cost of the pallet as well.
I recommend Clarins precious colours eye palette.
On Christmas morning when I opened my stocking, I was very pleased to find the Precious Colours Eye Pallette in there. Santa had been very good to me!
The eye shadow comes in a really cute metallic silver pouch made of quite soft, flexible material. It has the Clarins 'C' on the opening so you can tell it is a Clarins product. It has a magnetic opening so you can easily open and close it, and it also means that the eye shadow palette is protected in case of any falls or scratches.
The actual eye palette is silver in colour and is an oval shape (and about 12cm long) It has a big purple stone in the middle of it which is meant to look like and amethyst (but its made of plastic of course!) It looks very cool though, and I love the deep purple colour of it. The whole palette looks quite bling bling!
To open and close the palette there is a little button to press on the outside of the palette, and then it simply clicks closed again. The palette closes quite firmly so there's no danger of it opening without you wanting it to.
When you open up the palette, the top half of it has a mirror in the lid. This means that it is great for on the go or when you are travelling, you can easily get it out and do your make up anywhere since it has a mirror.
In the bottom section there are four different eye shadows and there is a see-through plastic cover which goes over them for protection, or in case there is any excess dust so it doesn't cover the mirror. There is a double-ended eye shadow applicator, which also fits into the plastic cover so that it doesn't move around.
There are four different eye shadows in the palette, and all of them look quite sparkly. There is a burgundy shade, a white/silver colour, a brown colour and a sparkly bronze colour. The white and the bronze colours are my favourite. The other two are a bit darker than I usually wear, but the great thing is that you can mix and match the colours, so I usually blend them with the lighter white/silver eye shadow and it looks really good. I like that the colours are quite versatile so I am able to use all the colours in the palette. Since all of the colours are quite different I find that there is always one to suit an occasion.
I find the staying power of the eye shadows really good. I can put this on for a night out and it'll still be there when I get home, or alternatively the more subtle shades can be used at work, and I also find that they are still on after the day.
The eye shadows have been allergy and ophthalmologist tested, and I have never had any problems with eye irritation or soreness when using this product. The eye shadow is also to be used within 36 months of purchase.
I'm not sure whether this was just brought out as a limited edition palette at Christmas time, but I can't seem to find it in any shops! I do remember seeing it in John Lewis around Christmas time though and it cost around £25.
All in all I think this is a lovely eye shadow palette. There are four very different colours which will suit all occasions and have great lasting abilities. The packing is wonderfully different and looks great.
