Advantages: light and sheer, radiance and luninence, doesn't cake

Disadvantages: quite expensive

I am a real makeup junkie. Being an ex-model, I have been luck enough to pick up lots of tips on how to enhance the good and disguise the rest. I have bought cosmetics from all over the world, from specialist and quirky manufacturers and I can definitely say that Liquid Magic Powder is in my top three beauty products - ever! So, let's start at the beginning, why use powder at all?

Whilst almost every colour cosmetic manufacturer who produces foundation also make powder. However, very few promote use of both together. My own theory on this is that, because foundation on its own doesn't last too long, you buy more because you use more. There's no doubt about it, if you use foundation, powder will make it last longer and take away that moist, greasy look. But the last thing you want is a face that looks as if it's been dusted in flour, either coloured or white. No-one wants a painted mask.

The main problem with many powders is that they are not milled finely enough, so they sit on the foundation and you get that horrid cakey look. To get a natural, dewey look a finely milled powder is absolutely necessary. This automatically mans you pay more money, but it's worth a natural, youthful look. And that's what you get when you use the Magic Powder.

Yes, it does have that lovely feel of being spritzed with cool water, but I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the end result. It certainly isn't wet. It is the finest powder I have ever seen and felt. Other reviewers have said it's pink. It isn't, it is truly luminous. I have never had as many compliments on how well I look when wearing this product. Very few say that my make-up looks lovely, it's always 'your skin looks lovely'. And isn't that the essence of wearing makeup - to look naturally good!

As with most products, the brush provided with the powder isn't too good but it does the job. Anyway, you sh
ould always use a good powder brush or, for those who want the finest application, a swansdown powder puff (yes, REALLY!). It's very difficult to apply too much but one should always brush off any excess - never rub! Your skin will look and feel lovely.

Oh, and for those of us who have problems with redness, there's a new Magic Powder variation, it's a soft, pale yellow-gold (again, the great beauty secret of neutralising redness is yellow powder - forget green!). I've just bought some and will report back on results.
