*** NEWS FLASH *** Prescriptives is a beauty brand owned by the US beauty company Estee Lauder, who also own about 30 other lines including Clinique, Origins and Bobbi Brown. Unfortunately for Prescriptives fans, the company has recently announced that it is to close the Prescriptives brand. On the 31st January 2010, Prescriptives will officially close. After that date the range will no longer be produced, but will remain on sale until supplies sell out. As quoted by the President and COO of Estee Lauder Fabrisio Freda 'We believe that the difficult decision relating to Prescriptives will allow us to redirect our resources ... I have got very pale pale skin - a traditional english rose complexion. Until recently I have never found a foundation that I could actually wear. It seems that most manufacturers only make foundations for people whose skin falls in the middle of the colour range, so anyone very pale or very dark skinned can't find anything to suit them. Every foundation from boots/superdrug I have ever tried has just looked orange on me. Department store brands tend to have a wider colour range, but even if there was something pale enough it always seemed to be too yellowy. I genuinely thought I would never find a foundation to suit me. A friend suggested Prescriptives ... Read the complete review

Been through every single cheap foundation? I used to think buying Max Factor was splashing out and only something done when I really had cash! This was until my flatmate decided to update my make up buying strategies on my 21st birthday, by introducing me to prescriptives. The foundation price at first really shocked me, previously I used to spend £5 on a foundation so £22.50 felt a bit steep but I wear foundation every day and night so now 9 months on when I still havent had to buy anymore I recon it was quite a bargin. The sales staff were excellent and really spent time with me sorting out which colours worked and didn't, continuously asking my ... Read the complete review

Finally, the search is over. It simply does not even bear thinking about the amount of time, effort and money I have sunk into trying to find the perfect foundation for my skin. I am relatively fair - burn easily in the sun, and am very prone to spot breakouts and the marks they leave take ages to go away, so a foundation with good coverage is important to me, but so is not looking as though my foundation is 3 inches deep!! I have been through them all but Prescriptives is difficult to come by in Northern Ireland and even though I had been aware of its merits for a number of years, I had never quite got round to getting it because there is nowhere local that ... A good lightweight foundation This is the foundation I settled on before moving on to tinted moisturisers. My skin is what would be classed as combination- oily around the T zone and drier elsewhere. Other foundations I had tried before Prescriptives would either result in skin breakouts or dry patches. Although it is expensive (over £20), it provides good coverage whilst not clogging pores. A key thing for me was the choice of tones the products comes in. I got a few different shade samples to take home before buying, as I have found in the past with foundations that if you try the product in store the lighting can be misleading and result in ...
