Advantages: Brilliant colour match, good coverage, natural finish

Disadvantages: None!

I have got very pale pale skin - a traditional english rose complexion. Until recently I have never found a foundation that I could actually wear. It seems that most manufacturers only make foundations for people whose skin falls in the middle of the colour range, so anyone very pale or very dark skinned can't find anything to suit them. Every foundation from boots/superdrug I have ever tried has just looked orange on me. Department store brands tend to have a wider colour range, but even if there was something pale enough it always seemed to be too yellowy. I genuinely thought I would never find a foundation to suit me.

A friend suggested Prescriptives so I went along, not really expecting to be impressed. I was amazed. The girl sat me down and did their colourprinting service. This puts you into one of 4 colour groups, I am a blue/red which is your traditional 'cool' tone. They then use more of their special pens to work out which shade level you are, I am level 1 which is, unsurprisingly, the lightest level.

The sales assistant then explained the different foundation formulations to me and discussed my skintype and what sort of finish I like to find the best foundation for me. We decided on virtual skin as I like a really natural finish - I'm always paranoid that people will be able to see a foundation line!

I am so so happy with this foundation and am now on my second bottle. This is the first time I have ever re-bought a foundation so it shows how impressed I am! The coverage is even and natural but it is still good enough to improve the appearance of your skin. I've recommended it to all of my friends and my mum has now got a bottle too! There are so many shades that I can't believe anyone wouldn't be able to find a colour match for themselves. This is a bit more expensive than I normally pay for a foundation - I think my bottle was £22.50. But because the shade exactly matches my skintone I find I don't use that much as it all blends in so well so a bottle lasts me about six months. Plus I'm willing to pay that much for something that is actually right for me! The only drawback for me is the availability - it's not available locally to me, I have to travel to London or Norwich. I think the brand is stocked at most house of fraser stores, selfridges and harrods.

Summary: An amazing range of shades - there really is one to suit every skintone.
