Prescriptives is a beauty brand owned by the US beauty company Estee Lauder, who also own about 30 other lines including Clinique, Origins and Bobbi Brown.

Unfortunately for Prescriptives fans, the company has recently announced that it is to close the Prescriptives brand.

On the 31st January 2010, Prescriptives will officially close. After that date the range will no longer be produced, but will remain on sale until supplies sell out.

As quoted by the President and COO of Estee Lauder Fabrisio Freda 'We believe that the difficult decision relating to Prescriptives will allow us to redirect our resources to key strategic imperatives where we see the highest growth potential.'


Prescriptives is famous mainly for its custom blend make-up. 'Colorprint' is an exact match, personally made just for you foundation. First they determine your skin's undertone using their unique and complimentary Colorprint service. Based on that, they literally mix your perfect shade and texture of foundation, and palette of eye, cheek and lip colours which are right for you.

My mum got this done a couple of years ago and was pleased with the result. They also give you a mini bottle of the foundation, which is handy for travel or touch ups when you are out and about.

Sooo, if you are a fan, I would get stocking up before it becomes extinct. Maybe they will have a sale near the end and you can snap up some great prices.

Their best selling fragrance Calyx will continue to be sold after the closure of the retail counters.
