I've had this set of eyeshadows for quite a while now, I'm not a big make-up wearer so I have quite a limited selection of favourites that I tend to use repeatedly. Not very exciting but it works for me. I use this palette for daytime wear mostly, as it has some lovely natural looking colours which manage to brighten my eye area and make me look a little less tired.
The brand is not one I was familiar with before I bought this palette, but the case it comes in looks classy and is hardwearing. The case is see-through so you can see the colours it contains, and it has a flip lid which clicks into place to make it easy to carry without spillage or breakage. It has the brand name written in silver letters on the front, but I've had mine so long it's rubbed off a little! My case has no cracks or damage, even though I've used it for years and I always take it on holiday because it's perfect for summer.
The eyeshadow palette I have contains various shades of brown, although Prestige do this set in different colours such as green. I prefer more neutral and natural looking colours so this is why I bought the browns. The thing I like about this palette is that I use three out of four of the colours, which isn't bad going considering usually with a palette like this, I'd just stick to the one colour.
The lightest colour is almost white, like a highlighter colour for your brow bone, there is then a very light brown, a medium brown, and a very dark brown. The eyeshadows have a little bit of a shimmer to them so this is why I prefer them for daily use. The light and medium brown are perfect for brightening up my eye area, and make me look a little more alert and awake, but without having to wear a full face of make-up.
These eyeshadows are reasonably hardwearing, although I do find by the end of the day the light brown one wears off a little. It's still visible though, and doesn't crease which is what usually happens with shimmery eyeshadows, so this isn't too big a problem for me. The palette comes with an eyeshadow applicator, although I have swapped this many times for hygiene reasons, and I use this to apply the colour and then my brush to blend the colours together if I'm feeling adventurous and wearing more than one colour.
The eyeshadows are easy to apply and blend really well together. They are good practical shades so you'll probably find this will be one of your most frequently used pieces of make-up. The dark brown makes this suitable for turning from day to night make-up, but I have separate make-up I use if I'm going out so I've never used this one.
This palette has served me well for a while now, and as you get a generous amount of each colour it still has plenty left before I need to replace it. I bought mine from Boots and I can't remember how much I paid but it's being advertised online between £5 - £10 depending on where you buy it from. This is definitely a good addition to your make-up collection, especially if you're just looking for something to apply quickly in the mornings to brighten up your eyes.
When it comes to eyeshadows they are simple a product I never get fed up of buying. I think my love of make-up came because when I was a young girl (way back in the day lol) and I was very overweight. I'd save up my pennies to go buy something to wear and never could get anything. I mean back then there was only really Evans to get large ladies togs from and I could never afford them being on a YTS scheme so would get down and buy myself a new piece of make up to cheer myself up with lol. I'm not one bit overweight now but old habits die hard and still I have a passion for the stuff so much so I became a mature student just to become a beauty therapist not so long back lol!
I love good make up of course. Some things have changed in that respect. I used to buy cheap and throwaway products but now appreciate good and durable make up that lasts without too many touch ups throughout a day and also has nice and appealing packaging. I don't want crappy looking cheap stuff any longer cluttering my bags and breaking everywhere!
This appealed to me because not only cos I am aware of the brand, it had four nice colours I was looking for in it and the case it was in looked nice and robust and not cheap or anything. All my requirements were met! So I couldn't resist it and bought a compact to go with my ever growing eye make up collection!
The eyeshadow comes in a row of 4 in a plastic, see through compact that flips open and closes with ease and is square in shape. On the front of it in simple silver lettering I am discreetly told it is Prestige and then on the bottom of the compact there is a silver label and I am told that it is Prestige Cosmetics 'Beauty Bar' Eyeshadow Palette and the colour is stated (which in this case my choice was 06 Marsh), the ingredients are stated as is the weight (80g) and contact details for Prestige are given. Flip open the case and you get a small see-though plastic wanded applicator and on the end of that a slightly angled white sponge. All in all in all looks nice enough!
Well in the beauty bar collection you get 4 colours. All of them sort of go well together and you do get a lot per colour too which I was very impressed with.
The colours are as soft as silk to the touch, to apply and to wear. Easy to blend on the eyes without flaking, personally I don't use the given applicator as I find it too fiddly and annoying to use so opt to use my own brushes which the eyeshadow and it clings to them ever so well!
The colours go on evenly and of course you can go for a sheer look or build the colour up if desired. These blend well with each-other and with other brands, are lightweight to wear, don't smudge or fade over time and certainly don't agitate my overly sensitive eyes.
These are simply a really nice eyeshadow set that are easy to apply, remove and wear. They have a light shimmer to them and no glitter so give a nice sophisticated and soft look to the eyes which pleases me greatly and these are advised to any woman of any age who wants a long lasting and silky soft eyeshadow full of colour pigment that don't crease, smudge or look crappy over time!
Very nice Prestige!
I paid £6.99 for my quad in Boots though do look out for these online if your interested as you may get them a wee bit cheaper! Also do be aware that there are a few colour combinations this can be purchased in, however Boots only stock 3 of them!
