Advantages: Staying power, will last a long time

Disadvantages: Hard to remove, not great for sensitive eyes

While browsing the makeup in Boots recently (I was actually there to get the Urban Decay Deluxe Palette but they had sold out!) I decided to buy a new eyeliner in a fun colour after being a little disappointed with Elf's liners.

While I'm a fan of Rimmel's soft kajal pencils, they only had two colours on the shelf (which looked decidedly bare also - restock, people!), one I had and one was boring old black. Anyway, I was drawn to a display by Prestige, which was located halfway between the big name brands and cheap and cheerful products. They had a huge range of colours on display, and I eventually decided on rhapsody, a gorgeous ocean blue colour.

Now, usually I like to wear the liner on my waterline and that's it unless I'm going out and have more of a busy eye look. I've tried a few different brands and haven't been particuarly happy with any of them - they have tended to fade almost immediately and slip down to my under-eye, or been pointy and uncomfortable to apply to the more sensitive part of my eye.

So I wasn't too optimistic when I tried this liner, especially since I hadn't heard of the brand before. Fortunately, I was wrong. I hadn't tested it out on my hand since that morning in the shop so when I saw how rich the colour was on my eye I was surprised and impressed. The colour was bright and even and it was really soft and comfortable to apply.
Usually when I put a liner on my waterline, I go away from the mirror only to return 10 minutes later and find it a mere shadow of its former self, the majority of it having migrated to my undereye creating a smokey, yet unwanted, look. So I put this one to the test. I went away and ate my dinner, came back and WOW! The colour was exactly the same. Impressive.

So I went out to the cinema, and when I returned..it was exactly the same! For the waterline, this is incredible staying power, so I can only imagine how long it would last for regular lining.
Now, it should be noted that I have sensitive eyes, and after applying the liner I they did feel a bit goopy. Not sore or stinging, but I had to rub my eye to clear it, and it felt a bit yucky. Fortunately this didn't mess up the liner I had just applied! After that I didn't have any problems with discomfort and as I choose to apply it on the most sensitive part of my eye, I have no one to blame but myself really!

For such staying power, the liner wasn't so easy to remove, as expected. As I have previously been unsuccessful in the eyeliner staying-power stakes, whatever feeble amount is left I usually remove with a wipe along with whatever other makeup I'm wearing that day. For this, that wasn't enough. Using a cotton bud and eye makeup remover seemingly wiped it off but the next morning I woke up looking like I'd done 10 rounds with Ricky Hatton - I had lovely blue bruise-like smudges around my eyes. Fortunately these wiped off easily.

While I couldn't find them on the Boots website, they did have a big display of Prestige products in their (large) store I went to. You can also find them online at eBay etc for slightly less than the RRP. Their website does have a page on retail locations but unfortunately it wouldn't load for me (fancy flash website but it won't work..)

Overall I am impressed with this liner. It cost £3.99 which is a little more than some, but it will last for ages as it glides on so easily it wont need sharpening much. There are a huge range of colours to choose from from more traditional black and brown to funky blues and purples. It is pretty hard to remove but that's only because it has such staying power, but if your eyes are extremely sensitive you might want give it a miss.

Summary: Average overall, but it does seem to last longer than most.
