“ Brand: Prestige / Type: Eyeshadows / Suitable for: Eye „
I have owned a couple of products in the past from this range but I'm aware that not many people have seen this range of products and me, I've only ever seen it stocked in Boots! So the other day in Boots I was at a loss at what to treat myself to and I got into investigating the stand this brand of make up was on and I decided to take the plunge and buy 3 different solo eyeshadows. I can't remember the exact amount they cost me but I think they were around £5.86 each.
A sort of flattish circle which has a clear flip-top lid to the top of it and the product itself is encased into a silver metallic base and around the rim of the on the top Prestige is written on in silver writing. The base of the product has a grey label on it and on that in black writing again I'm told it's Prestige 'Shadow', the colour is stated, I'm told it's made in the USA and contact details for Prestige Cosmetics are given and finally there is a bar-code on there. It's a nice looking, secure case and I like being able to see the eyeshadow through it and like the sort of integrated lid that easily flips up and doesn't flap about when using it!
Lots of product in the case, it's a smooth powder eye-shadow and when you first own in there is like lines on it which actually makes the eyeshadow easier to get off onto your brush or applicator.
So it's does have a slight cosmetic sort of smell to it but nothing vile or anything. It's a very soft powder eyeshadow and I purchased 2 dark colours and a very light one and all are very highly colour pigmented.
However these are quite difficult to apply for some reason. Instead of simply sweeping these eyeshadows over the eyes and the colour transferring off with ease you have to dab them on and they are really hard to blend and to get the colour to look even. You have to apply these in seriously good light and really watch what your doing and take your time!
The application of the lighter colours is slightly easier but the dark colours are simply a nightmare! Take last night and me using them as an example of this! I used a dark steel grey on the lower part of my eye. So getting it on was as I explained really hard work. Then I smudged it. It smudged a dirty mess where it shouldn't of and when I tried to correct it made it worse. I didn't have time to remove all of this make-up and use something else (which I have plenty of) so I thought stuff it and went out anyway not too happy. 2 hours later I looked like a panda. It was smudged and on the outer corners of my eyes the colour had clogged and some had visibly worn off (my date actually mentioned it) where my eye moisture must have attacked it. It looked absolutely terrible!
To me this isn't great at all and I expected it to be for the price that I paid for it. It's hard to get it to 'set' and stay put and hard to work with and oh it's just awful! I seriously wish I'd had a photograph taken to back up my review right now lol. One to avoid I think!
