      A good, low cost mascara.

I bought this mascara for the first time a few years ago now. I have used a couple of prestige mascaras and generally found them to be really good for what is a pretty cheap brand.

This particular mascara comes in a fairly basic black and silver plastic tube. It has a twist lid which comes off the reveal a circular brush. The shape of the brush is really good, the bristles are fairly close together which helps to cover all of the lashes and add volume. Overall I think the design is fairly unexciting but for a cheap mascara I wouldn't expect much more. I really like the brush and think the look it achieves is great. My only real issue would be that the plastic of the tube is quite flimsy and the plastic around the lid of mine has broken off. This doesn't prevent me from using it and it hasn't dried out the mascara fluid but it doesn't look particularly good.

The mascara fluid has a really nice, fairly thick consistency which evenly coats the brush and is ultra black in colour. The brush is best for achieving volume for my lashes, though it does add length like any mascara does. It is easy to coat the lashes and I don't find that it clumps unless I apply more than 2 coats. Due to the fairly thick consistency it takes a little longer than thinner fluids to dry so it doesn't tend to be one I use when in a hurry. Also because it is fairly high impact I tend to use it more for nights out or special events where I want a more stand out look.

My own issue with the quality of the actual mascara is that it does dry out and become clumpy after a fairly short amount of time. It lasted me probably a month or two before it became difficult to use and I had to chuck it out. For a cheap mascara this isn't terrible because it cost me £4 and I got a fair amount of use out of it. If I had paid more for it I think I might be bothered by this but as it was very cheap I got enough use out of it to justify the cost, and while it did work it was a very good mascara.

Overall, I wouldn't pay much more for this and having looked online you can get it quite cheaply so when I buy it again (which I will) I'll be looking for the cheapest deal.
