Advantages: The colour is ok

Disadvantages: Loads lol

I really do get through a lot of black liquid eye-liners. I really love them! However I do find I spend out alot of cash on them because I buy them so regularly that when I saw this one in Primark I simply had to try it out. Working my way through Primark cosmetics and being mighty pleased with them so far I really believed this was going to be brilliant and cut my costs!

The Packaging.

The eyeliner comes in a clear and white oblong hanging bag and on the front I'm told it's Primark Essentials Liquid Eye Liner 'Designed to define your eyes'. On the back of the packet contact details for Primark are given, ingredients and cautions are listed and there is a bar-code on there. The eyeliner comes in a tapered tube which is black at the bottom (where the colour is and on that again I'm told what it is and then the lid/handle is very long and white and screws on/off and holds a long plastic 'wand' with a thin hard long brush on the end of it. Primark has given us cheap looking packaging but at a pound a product it's ok in my view!

The Eyeliner Itself....

So far this eyeliner is only available in black and I flipping hate it! I mean hate as well not dislike, it's terrible!

Firstly the colour itself is great, I have to be fair to it. Jet black glossy looking it's a great consistency being not to thin but by no means thick, gunky or gloopy and it dries almost immediately and when it dries the colour itself is long lasting, bright and fresh.

However the brush is a complete nightmare to use. As I said earlier it's a hard long thin brush and it's really hard to control. I usually apply my wet eyeliners free hand. I'm a dab hand at it now but this I stroked on and found it gave no glide and gave me harsh lines. I then tried to simply paint over a normal eyeliner as a guide but no my eyes didn't match and the colour looked harsh because it went on so thick and I couldn't control it no matter how hard I tried. The results looked odd and I have tried and tried again and again to get on with this product.

When it's on the eyes (in my case not long cos I don't like the results it gives me) it's ok in the way it's decent quality and yep it would stay put etc. However again when you come to remove this stuff you need a real heavy duty eye make-up remover and it smears everywhere and is hard work to remove and a pain to remove in particular from between eyelashes. When I have removed it that's when the uncomfortable tingling starts and a slight burning feeling on my eyelids. That feeling does make my eyes go a bit pink after removal (not when wearing it though) and they do feel aggitating for about an hour in my case.

Verdict....

If you have sensitive peepers don't even bother trying it to test if I'm right in my review or not ladies. This is not a mild and/or kind formulation in any way shape or form. Although I consider myself to be quite an expert on being able to apply liquid eyeliners this is a nightmare and a waste of a quid! Don't bother, pay more!

Only available in Primark stores priced at a pound a tube.

Summary: No no no Primark! Tsk!
