Primark Shimmer Dust Pot
Advantages: Cheap, nice color and good value.
Disadvantages: Does fade off and wont last all day.
I ended up in Primark last weekend, with four kids, one of them my own and a total lack of patience with anything and anybody. I was secretly cursing my other half who had gone off to check some deal (probably electronic related) and had managed to be gone the better part of an hour as I lugged around town feeling more and more like a grouch then anything else.
Thankfully though Primark changed my mood...
I was looking through the beauty section as it was the one thing all four of the girls shared a common interest in (funny how even a two year old can skillfully apply mascara these days!) and I found myself staring at the glittery shimmery eye shadow section. Now I am very picky about makeup and will stay away from cheep brands, as it just doesn't last, and I had no intention of buying any of their eyeshadows, but the shimmer now....Thats a different story...
I was pretty gob smacked when I realized that for 1.50 euros, I could get a decent sized pot of eye shimmer. I figured that I didn't have much to lose and I might as well go ahead and get some, (That and the fact that some of the employees were eyeing me suspiciously as all four girls had a more then casual browse through the makeup).
I picked the white one, as it was christmas and frosty eyeshadow is always a must around then ;) There are no names or numbers on the pot so I cant tell you exactly which one it was, but here in ireland there is a limited selection of colors so you should be able to spot it pretty well.
This product costs 1.50 and weights 7.5 grams/0.264 ounces. The pot is tall and simply says "Shimmer Dust Designed to make you Shimmer" on the otherwise clear packaging.
When you unscrew the top there is a slight dip, and then a separate layer where you can shake out the dust via several holes. You can also remove this part and simply have an open pot.
The color I bought is "white" but when I put some on my skin I noticed that gold would be a more accurate description, there are thousands of tiny golden sparkles that make it appear more golden in the light. so the end result is a sort of light gold or "glowing" white.
The powder comes out really easily through the holes and some does come out when you open the lid, but not enough that it is a problem.
I carefully coated a eyeshadow brush with some of the powder and smoothed it over my lids, the color was really nice, subtle and sexy but at the same time it really caught the light.
I am very pleased with this purchase and have bought a few more colors to add to my collection, it doesn't last a very long time, but it does give a touch of glam to an otherwise matte eyeshadow. I tend to dust some over my regular eyeshadow, as then when it wears off I still have the eyeshadow underneath.
Definably a five star price wise and value, as the pot lasts forever, maybe minus one star because it doesn't last all day.
Summary: Worth buying and highly recommended!
