Primark Shimmer Dust Pot
Advantages: Cheap for two pots, lovely shimmery colours
Disadvantages: Powder gets everywhere when opening them
Last time I was at Primark I stocked up on loads of their make-up. I quite like their clothes and although they are cheap I never think they are of a particularly bad quality. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of their make-up which was all complete rubbish with the exception of the shimmer dust which I really liked.
For £1 you get two little pots of shimmer dust which is basically a fancy name for an eye shadow. The colour selection wasn't huge but there were a few different colours to choose from and I was happy with the ones that I got.
They look a bit more bright and garish in the pots than they do on the eyes. I was originally a little bit disappointed that they weren't more dramatic on but I soon got over that and appreciated the fact that they gave me a gorgeous shimmering highlight of colour on my eyelids.
Just be careful when opening the pots as the loose powder always seems to come out and go everywhere no matter how careful I am with it.
I can see why they are called shimmer pots as they actually do shimmer when the light hits them and they look lovely under a nightclubs lights for instance. They are as suitable for day time as they are night and you can build up the colour for night time which does make them more dramatic.
You can also use the dust as a highlighter anywhere you like and I did try it on my chest and neck area on a night out and it looked great but the pots are just too small for this to be a practical use for it.
Applying it is easy and you can either use a brush or else just use your fingers like me. Using your fingers does seem to make it last longer on my eyes but something about applying it with my fingers also seems to make it less shimmery so I am always careful when applying it not to put too much pressure on my eyes.
I really liked the shimmer dust from Primark and totally intend to buy a few pots next time I get the chance to visit a store. It looks excellent and it is dirt cheap. Bypass all the other Primark make-up and just go straight for this.
