I am a huge lip gloss junkie, and I easily own about twenty of them. I find lipsticks quite drying for me, so I am always after a nice new lip gloss. I had tried many budget brands of lip gloss and found them to be so-so. I was quite lucky when I picked up this Revlon ColorBurst lip gloss, as I got it for free when purchasing my Revlon foundation as they had a great offer on. Since then, I have repurchased this lip gloss again, and I'm really glad I took up this offer or I would never have tried it. This lip gloss retails for £7.99 and is stocked in Boots and other good stores. I think £7.99 is a little more expensive than what I would usually pay, but for the quality it is really worth it and that is why I have since repurchased it.
The lip gloss comes in lovely packaging as you can see in the image. I think that the quilted plastic lid gives it a really high end look. It displays the colour of all the lip glosses clearly in the tube. The lid unscrews easily and reveals a lovely applicator brush. The brush is just the right size, and very soft when applied to the lips. I like this because I have found many applicator brushes in the past to be quite scratchy and hard. This is gentle, and distributes the gloss smoothly and fuss free.
There is a really nice colour range in these lip glosses, and there is almost certainly one to suit everybody. There are baby pinks, bright pinks, browns, corals and lilac shades. I personally stay away from bright colours as they just do not suit me! I settled for the shade called 'Pink Ice'. This is a baby pink shade with a lovely shimmer throughout it. I can not vouch for all the shades, but as far as I am aware many of them have shimmer throughout the colour. This makes them perfect for wearing on nights, but also subtle enough to wear in the day too.
You only need one or two coats of this lip gloss to apply full colour to the lips. The first thing I noticed when applying this was that it is not sticky at all. I found this amazing as many lip glosses I have used before (including high end ones) are extremely sticky and uncomfortable on the lips. Thankfully, this stays stick free when wearing throughout the day, so it means no hair ends up stuck to my lips in the wind! The colour pay off and pigmentation in the gloss is just incredible. It leaves my lips looking full of colour with a nice shimmer throughout.
Staying power is also something important to me, as I don't want to keep applying lip gloss constantly throughout the day. I would say that this last a good two or three hours before it needs topping up. However, if you eat or drink you will almost certainly have to reapply, as most of mine wears of when consuming food or drinking. That is the only problem really that I have found with this lip gloss.
I get many compliments when wearing this Revlon lip gloss, and I find it an overall great, fuss free gloss. I would recommend this to people who love lip glosses with a bit of sparkle. They leave lips looking shiny, not sticky and they are a great, affordable price. 4/5 thanks for reading, hope it helps.
