It gives me a flawless , smooth finish .I apply Revlon Colourstay pressed powder after applying foundation . It is available in more than five shades . It never gives me a heavy feeling .It is not very long lasting as claimed. It gives my face a smooth feeling for seven to eight hours . After that I have to give a retouch to my make up .But I don't mind it .It can not be easily washed . I normally use cleansing milk to remove it .It easily hides the scars & also makes the foundation smooth .Its packaging is good . A sponge is given for its application.
I went into boots as i needed a few new pieces of makeup, and they were doing 3 for 2, so i bought a revlon powder and foundation, and a maxfactor mascara.
After applying my foundation in the mornings, i dust with a loose powder (currently a clinique one), but as i have very ioly skin, i need to touch up my make up constantly all day, or my t-zone looks pretty scary!! I sometimes find that as i constantly have to apply pressed powder to my face that it can look caked after a few applications, but i didnt have that problem with this powder... it is very smooth and flawless.
The coverage is average, good enough for me i think. The compact is very nice and strudy (i usually seem to break them after a while!) One thing i was not impressed with was the lack of choice of colour. They had it for sale in light, light/medium, and medium... usually i would need a medium in face powder as i wear fake tan so usually have abit of a glow! but this medium was far too dark/orange. So i tried the light/medium, and it was very pale.. much paler than my skin... there was nothing inbetween.. so obviously i bought the light/medium shade... better to be too light than too dark i'd say! I have gotten on with it well, i do however think it should be a shade darker. It would not stop me from buying it again though. Nice product xx
Revlon Colourstay Pressed Powder
£10.49 at Boots but have an offer at the moment for 3 for 2 on Revlon cosmetics.
"Revlon Colorstay Pressed Powder uses a exclusive ColorStay® formula with micro-milled powder which help to minimize shine and create a fresh, flawless finish that wears for 16 hours over makeup."
I don't usually tend to use a pressed powder but my face can sometimes look a little shine and as I was buying some foundation from the range, I decided with 3 for 2 to finally splash out on a pressed powder.
The packaging is very plain black circular case which includes a soft round applicator pad and a mirror inside the case. The powder comes in three different shades - light, medium and dark. However, I don't think there is much difference between the three shades and the dark shade isn't really that dark. I opted for medium and I am quite happy with the colour for my skin tone, which is quite pale.
The powder goes on really smooth. I don't actually use the sponge applicator as I feels it applys the powder a little too thickly so I just use a soft brush (similar to one that I would apply blusher or bronzer with) and I feel this makes the powder appear a lot smoother and gives a nicer finish. The foundation I bought from the Revlon range was actually quite shiny so I am quite happy that I purchased this powder to set the foundation and to make sure it is completely matt without any shine. I really like this powder and like the way it blends in and makes my face appear flawless and airbrush. It is very long lasting as well and last all day. There isn't so much powder in the case but I don't feel you need a lot as its not really to be used as a powder isn't just to set your make-up. I really think it does do exactly what it claims and would definitely recommed to other and I would buy this again, especially as part of a deal as to be honest I don't think I would have bought it just on it ones at the regular price.
