Advantages: Gorgeous colour, easy to use, quick application, effective applicator, cheap
Disadvantages: Can crease a bit but is easy to fix
I was looking for a new deep brown eye shadow a few months ago and after finding none that caught my eye in the usual places, I headed into Poundland. I saw a collection of "Famous Brands" cosmetics as it is called in Poundland at the end of an aisle in the store.
I have the EyeGlide in the colour Mocha - which as said before is a dark brown colour. The tube is a thin but quite long, deep brown colour with a rounded end. Pulling the lid off, you are met with a slanted sponge applicator which is quite stiff so applying the product is pretty easy. It is a cream eye shadow which comes up out of the applicator tip when you twist the tube.
The colour Mocha is quite a dark brown with some shimmers through it but not too many. The texture is very creamy and covers very well. With one sweep of the EyeGlide, it covers my whole eye lid. The applicator blends the eye shadow/cream in well and doesn't need any blending since the sponge applicator does it for you! It applies extremely evenly and doesn't leave any horrible clumps or blobs of cream on the lid.
In terms of staying power, the EyeGlide stays put pretty much all day. I usually get a tiny bit of creasing around the crease on my lid, but this has happened with other cream eye shadows I have had. Although, a tiny rub with my finger and the crease line is blended out again. I have dark brown eyes and find that this product goes perfectly with a little eyeliner and mascara.
There is no smell at all to the EyeGlide so would be suitable for those with eyes that are easily irritated by fragrances in products. The EyeGlide is great for those ladies who are in a rush in the mornings as you eye makeup can be applied in a flash with one sweep of the EyeGlide.
I haven't seen this product in Boots recently, yet I know they used to sell it in store so it is worth a look. I am sure that this product will be available somewhere or other (or if all else fails - check Ebay). This product only cost me a pound (since I did buy it in Poundland!) and in my opinion is definitely worth it. I would have been happy to pay more for it but was extremely happy to get it for a pound!
I love this product (if you hadn't already guessed) and it will be a staple in my makeup collection for the next few months.
Summary: A sure staple in my makeup collection!
