Advantages: Great products that you can depend on!

Disadvantages: Packaging for some of the products can look a bit dull, time for a revamp me thinks

To me Revlon products are middle of the road prices that promise great results. I have an obsession with nail varnishes owning over 200 and I can't paint my fingernails as I bite them so I only use the stuff on my tootsies!

However a pedicure once a week is a must for me and I paint them once a week with a good nail varnish and I like nice brands because I don't do them alot and I want nice results so I can do them and forget about them! I own a lot of Revlon nail varnish's as my local market sells them at a pound each, yes really! They really are a lovely bargain. I think they are end or ranges and some of the colours I really wouldn't touch with a barge pole but occasionally I strike gold and get a real nugget of a bargain! I'm not sure if its a new range but their colour beam sheer varnishes are really gorgeous and a lot less harsh than their run of the mill original colours. Colour beam sheer is just a little iridescent and not as shiny as their range of glimmer gloss nail varnishes.

The nice thing about the whole range is you can find almost any colour and get it in any of the three ranges that Rimmel have on offer which currently are Original , Sheer or Glimmer! So you can make your look appear Hard and Polished, Soft and Iridescent or Party Glam in the colour of your choice. I think all three of those ideas are self explanatory so I won't humour you!

The really nice thing about the glimmer colour range is that they don't look cheap and nasty and over loaded in glitter, it's more shiny than anything else which means if your getting on a bit and want something more sophisticated this could be the range for you! It's got a great even coverage and is long lasting though I would recommend at the very least a top coat to really set the colour and make it longer lasting and a tad more chip resistant.

I've seen other reviews of people saying that the 60 seconds range takes longer to dry than that and I absolutely agree it does but the time depends on how thick your apply it , how old the polish is and how many coats your applying of course.

Just for reference with any nail varnish if your doing two coats do allow a few minutes between coats so that it drys completely or you make it thick and give yourself a ripply effect that just really looks rubbish and make it easy to chip it!

I find the bottles nice enough being clear, full of the colour with a black shiny screw top lid and the brush is thin, long and of good quality and the product lasts me ages , however on the downside after bout 3 months of average use say once a week it does start to get clumpy and you really should throw it out.

It's a nice classy range of colours, though if your looking for outrageous fashion must haves this probably isn't the range for you though I have seen a blue added to their range recently so maybe I shouldn't speak too soon! I'd recommend this one to everyone.

If your not sure of what colours you like Boots are doing little mini gift boxes of Revlon nail varnishes in their 3 for 2 mix and match products this Christmas (as they do most years). Little mini samplers of their best selling nail varnishes for you to play with and give you a nice selection of nail polishes to use over Christmas!

Normally a 14ml bottle will set you back about £6.29 a bottle in places like Boots and Superdrug etc. Widely available and do look online for bargains. It lasts ages in the bottle and a few days on, with no fade and no chips and it's easy to remove. It's great!

Summary: Great range of products aimed at the older more mature market!
