Advantages: BRILLIANT PRODUCT FOR FILLING IN GAPS IN EYEBROWS!

Disadvantages: SHAVING OFF HALF MY BROW IN THE FIRST PLACE *DOH*!

A few months ago I used a little battery operated trimmer to tidy my eyebrows as I don't like pain, but I accidentally shaved too much off and ended up looking like a Vulcan off Star Trek, Oops!

Of course everybody without exception in my life when they saw me with only half an eyebrow thought this was hysterically funny...Except me!

Always one to be proud on my appearance in public, I was in a quandary as to what to do until I happened along this little lifesaver in Poundland by 'Revlon'.

Called a 'Brow Fill-In Powder' by 'Vital Radiance' for only £1, it was worth a shot at filling in the outer half of my missing eyebrow until it painstakingly grew back *Sigh*

I was desperate for something to fill in the gap by the time I found this, I'd been drawing what I though were subtle tiny hair lines with a brown eyeliner, but judging by the amount of people talking to my left upper brow rather than directly to me, my DIY camouflage wasn't succeeding, Sob!

The product itself is packaged in what looks like a powder compact - circular and an old fashioned beige plastic so not the best looking container, but that worried me not. This little desperate purchase was about the appearance 'on' my face rather than the appearance of the double powder palette 'in' its holder.

On unpacking the compact at home, there were two shades of brown powder - one light medium brown and one a darker hue - both known as '04 Brunette' by the New York based company...

At the top end of the inside compartments there is a little semi circle mirror, very handy if you are out and about and need to re-apply the powdery cosmetic.
The middle section housed a small, slanted shaped brush applicator, and the bottom of the semi-circle is divided into to smaller sections that house each of the aforementioned colours.

The net weight is 1.7gram and the outer could definitely be recycled when empty - which incidentally would probably take me years, as it is only used occasionally now to touch up my hair roots when they are due for dying!

So, back to the main purpose of these powders and if it is successful as a brow filler in...

The lighter shade was fine on its own although of course you could mix and match the shades in the narrow brush holder section if needs be. The slender soft brush was perfectly angled to apply the powder accurately, and I was astonished at how well these pigmented molecules clung to the roots of my poor butchered eyebrow.
Brushing it gently on at first, I grew increasingly confident as I saw how natural the shade looked against the remaining original fine hairs, and consequently I was delighted with the outcome of the little experiment.

Going out in public was another matter but I had no choice, did I?

Cruelly goaded by my errant teenage daughter she soon hushed up when she saw the successful patch up job with my miracle Vital Radiance powder, Ha!

The powder ingeniously clung on to the tiny fine hairs that rotten trimmer had missed, and I could not believe how real my painted on eyebrow looked - I was literally over the moon!

The colour was really resilient, and did not wipe off if I accidentally brushed my brow with my hair or my hand as we unconsciously do in day to day life. In fact I can honestly say this stuff is really robust and stays firmly put until it is washed off. The quality of this Revlon cosmetic is fantastic; I've paid a lot more for a lot less in terms of makeup staying power and a natural pigmentation.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this Brow Fill-In Powder for both its original use (it took two horrendously long months for the brow to grow fully back by the way, nightmare!), plus as a temporary grey roots cosmetics cover.

5 Camouflaged Dooyoo Stars for a product I would have quite happily paid a pound per day to use I was that desperate to look human and not alien, lol!
